About Us

What happens when a love of reading meets a commitment to make the world a better place?  You get Aveson - a bookstore on a mission to give back!

In late 2024, Jon, Aveson's founder, knew he wanted to do more with his passions for books and social impact - he just didn't know how.  After exploring different ideas, inspiration struck: a bookstore that gives back!

Every purchase at Aveson directly supports communities.  Half of our profits are donated to help literacy in the states where purchases are made, and we work with the Arbor Day Foundation and Trees for the Future to support tree planting efforts - the equivalent of one tree planted for every 10 books sold.  According to the Arbor Day Foundation, a single large tree can supply a day's worth of oxygen for up to four people and absorb over 48 pounds of CO2 annually, offsetting nearly 20 pounds of CO2 generated by burning one gallon of non-ethanol gasoline.

As Aveson grows, we are able to provide more and more benefits to both local communities and the environment, providing resources and improving the lives of thousands of people every year.

We are also proud to be part of the American Booksellers Association, connecting us with other independent bookstores nationwide and strengthening our mission to support readers, schools, and libraries.
