"If you haven't picked up the Shades of Magic series before, do so. A Darker Shade of Magic is good; A Gathering of Shadows is better; A Conjuring of Light blows them both away. " --Culturess on A Conjuring of Light

This was my favorite of the 3 books in the series, as by now I connect better with the characters. (I had a hard time doing so in the first book. I only kept reading because my daughter recommended it.) The plot is complicated yet engaging, and I like the banter between the characters in this book. At times the magic concepts & plot can be a bit tricky to follow, and a couple of the character arcs are slightly off (not flat, but not totally a smooth arc, from beginning of series to end, in my opinion), but still--a very good story. Schwab's storytelling shines in this book:)
Engaging. Well written, you really get to know the characters. Feel for them. I was sad when I finished, I missed the characters.
I loved this series! 640 pgs on book 3 alone, fabulous! Each and every one held my interest and kept me turning pages. I'm up 1.5 hours after bedtime to finish this tonight. Yet, it leaves me wanting more from these charges. Read these books, you'll be happy you did.
A fantastic, well written series. Unlike many trilogies, the last was even better than the two before. A must read.
The third and concluding volume in what is clearly one long novel, superbly done but whose parts must be read in order. The conflict between good and evil depicted has many casualties among the participants on the various sides, as the roles of the main players change, grow, or decline. Messy and convoluted a story, much more like life than story telling.
