On the night of the blood moon, the Vampire Lord must die.
Floriane's position as the forge maiden of Hunter's Hamlet is one of reverence, for it is her skill that arms and protects the vampire hunters. She knows her place and is a faithful servant to the Master Hunter and her community... until the night of the blood moon. Until her brother is dying at the hands of the Vampire Lord Ruvan.
Wanting to defend her home at all costs, Floriane fights the vampire lord, ready to give her life if it means taking his. But Ruvan doesn't want to take her life... he wants her.
Kidnapped and brought to the vampire castle, Floriane is now blood sworn to the vampire lord. She is bound in mind and body to her worst enemy. But Ruvan isn't the fiend she thought he was. She learns the truth of the vampires: They are not mindless monsters, but a proud people, twisted and tortured by an ancient curse.
Ruvan believes that Floriane might be the key to ending his people's suffering. All Floriane wants is to defend her home. Loyalties are tested and the line between truth and lie is blurred.
When her dagger is at his chest, will she be able to take the heart of the man who has claimed hers?
A darkly-reimagined Snow White meets inspiration from Beauty and the Beast in an epic fantasy world of hunters, vampires, and curses that run deeper than blood. This stand alone is complete with a "happily ever after" ending. It's perfect for fantasy romance fans looking for just the right amount of steam and their next slow-burn and swoon worthy, enemies to lovers story.
While it is set in the Married to Magic universe, readers can start with this book.

An in depth story, with lots of twists and turns in the plot. Not a predictable out come which keeps you thinking and guessing. There is little romance. Pretty much zero spice. One bedroom scene that is quite vague. Almost confusing on what is going on.4 stars for likeable characters and intriguing plot-1 star, lack of romance and 🌶. It was like, waiting to taste a delicious hot meal only to be served with playdough formed "food." Confusing and disappointing.
Rounded up! Great world building for a standalone though it does take place in the same world as the other books in the series. A very interesting take on the vampire lord. It was like zombies meet vampires!
I enjoyed getting to know the mmc and fmc. Would’ve been 5 stars if the audio matched with the writing. Made immersive reading sort of difficult.I love that this is a standalone and we get a HEA. Sometimes fantasy can get depressing at the end and it was refreshing to not have to cry over a cliff hanger.
I read a lot, I mean A LOT of vampire books. Most of them have the same plot of woman kidnapped my vampire, vampire holds her hostage and falls in love like a beauty and the beast story. This is very much that same theme but with a new take and twist to it. She's not helpless, he's not a monster and there's plenty of fighting and mystery in the story to make it feel more then a simple romance novel with the enemies to lovers theme. It’s got its moments where it gets slow and events are lacking, but its well placed and pieces together near 3/4ths of the book.My rule with a good romance book is if you remove the love, lust and occasional smut, is there still a good story?Answer here is yes. There's a story beyond the romance and it holds itself without any love interest at play.
I absolutely love listening to this book! I purchased the graphic audio book and read the Kindle along with listening to the story and it was phenomenal! All of the various narrators did an excellent job bringing the characters to life. I love the characters and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. I couldn't put the book down and stayed up way too late listening/reading the story to find out what happens. I wasn't sure what to think when I first got the book but I absolutely loved it!
