This book is so freakin inspiring
Such a necessary message in the current political climate. The writing feels very personal, and it's so well-researched. I especially enjoyed the scavenger hunt within the book at the end of Chapter 6 about using games as a tool for engagement. I am so inspired and have gained many new insights and ideas on how to "amplify" my efforts in global health advocacy. Huge thanks to the "A" in AJR for putting this out in the world!
This is an awesome how-to for anyone hoping to change the world, helping us harness what we already do well in the service of whatever passion-project or cause we want to champion. And a great read thanks to the craft of Heather Landy.

Adam Met is one of the amazingly brilliant members of the band AJR. Their music has brought me back to life many days when I felt like the gray may just take over forever. The way the make their music and out their heart and sould into every beat is like nothing I've heard or felt from one singular band! So I knew I had to pre-order Adam's book as soon as I saw it available because I respect him as an artist and wanted to share in another one of his artist outlets.

Grab a seat because this is going to be a long review. I’ve been an AJR fan for many years. I knew a few songs in college but I refuse to tell you how long ago that was. But one day, in my lowest of lows I heard a catchy song at a bowling alley and Shazammed it. I couldn’t tell you which one it was because I know them all now, but it takes a lot for music to get my attention. I’ve been a a dj, played the violin for over a decade. You’ve got to be really good at it. So I went home and downloaded all of their music. The lyrics were so clever and inspiring. It’s pretty simple to play melodic chords that are appealing but the thought that I could tell was put into it was striking and new. And I loved the combination of modern and relevant as well as a clear knowledge of music theory, and again, the lyrics touch everyone in some capacity. I became a die hard. I’ve probably seen the band 20 times and have the OK orchestra album artwork tattooed on my arm.No offense Adam, but I always thought that you were a bit retroverted, or a hippie going through the motions. After having read this book. I’m so proud to have you tattooed as the guy in the blue sweatshirt on my arm. I’ve always been a Ryan favorite because of the music. And I forbid you to use the word disorder again. It’s a gift.I knew that jack struggled with the stress of the world but I never knew about his hat putting him into character. I actually wanted to tell you all of this on your book tour after having read it. Circumstances didnt work out.Whoever you are, where ever you are, this book is brilliant. If you have any aspirations to leave your mark on the world. It’s your guideline.This man used an incredible opportunity to create change for his passions. And as he says in his books. His passion was not the base. It’s the sense of community and what a community can do when correctly developed.I had very little interest in climate change until reading this but I am also in healthcare. If you think about it a heat rising climate can make insects, which carry all kinds of shut the world down diseases, and help them populate more rapidly. we are already infinitely outnumbered by insects as it is. In addition to that we actually do have the capability for renewable resources now. We should all take a stance in making sure it’s not just the futures problem.Regardless, whatever your passion may be, and it has to come from the heart, this book is a great way to learn how to develop help for a cause.I’m actually a writer myself. First book should be published in a few weeks. Still recording the audio. It’s part of why I couldn’t afford to go see Adam’s tour. Investing in change can get expensive. It’s been challenging trying to not offend anyone but there are underlying principles that I have tried to create. Don’t see color. See people. Don’t see gender. See people. Families can be built of of value and not necessarily blood. My book is an 1830’s historical fiction. From Texas With Pride. Two brothers. One black and a product of slave rape and a younger brother who is white. It’s them against the world. And the older colored brother is the ladies man which would probably have been very unlikely for that time frame. I’m no Susan B or MLK. But if newer generations are exposed to a population that is less judgy. Even subtly so, then the progress will come.Also I’d like a signed copy please sir. Otherwise I’ll catch you when you’re back on tour. Maybe you can sign my book. It is easy to feel overwhelmed or discouraged when thinking about advocacy. This book completely flips the narrative! Instead of focusing on burnout and barriers, "Amplify" offers readers tangible ways to get involved and, more importantly, stay involved. This book blends inspiration, honesty, and practicality to make advocacy work applicable to everyone! It's the kind of book that leaves you feeling informed, empowered, and ready to persevere!
This was definitely one of my most highly anticipated books for 2025. Those who know me know I am a huge fan of AJR and have been since 2013. So it's safe to say I was really excited when one of the band members, @adamajrbrothers, decided to write a book. This definitely exceeded my expectations, and while I read this, I was constantly recommending it to everyone I knew. This book delves into what makes a social movement not only successful but also how it connects us as a community and human beings. I loved how Adam wove different stories into lessons by also using interviews from some other spectacular people and musicians. I plan to buy a few copies of this book when it releases in 24 hrs. I thankfully get to go to one of the book tour spots and get a signed one, but I also plan to buy another copy where I can highlight and take notes. I can see this book being used in classrooms and as a guide for future social justice majors or even just someone like me who is currently working on a social action project for my final class.Seriously, go buy this book.

Very fascinating read on comparing how a fan base, a music fan base, can be used in a similar fashion with a political type movement and how to put it into practice. It has some really great commentary from Insiders on both the entertainment side and the movement side on ways to create a successful movement.
