Art of Persuasion: Winning Without Intimidation

Great book, I learned a lot of how to deal with people through this book. There seemed to be a lot of loose ideas towards the end though.

Nothing more than an advertisement for other books and products.

Bob Burg is a Napoleon Hill and Dale Carnegie clone. He really doesn't add much to what these authors have had to say already with the exception that Burg does attempt to add some NLP concepts. You can do better.

The book is called The Art of Persuasion, but even though it's an easy read, it could just as accurately be called The Science of Persuasion. The author has a deep understanding of human nature and human interactions.

Great, short read, worth every minute.The type of book you should read in chunks, read a chapter, implement it, practice it, then move to the next to expand the practices deeper into your day to day interactions.

Bought it to share with a colleague who was generating some complaints. We bury got a lit out of it. Easy to read and very helpful.

I truly enjoyed reading this book. I myself and many others could take many recommendations from it. Throughout reading the book I have realized many things that I do could be done in a more respectful and caring way. I loved the examples the book gave as well as the stories. The stories may not relate to my life exactly as the experiences in the book but it is very broad in the way of using the techniques for any situation. I have and will continue to keep molding myself in my work and everyday life with techniques given. Even if you are not trying to sell something or yourself this book will genuinely help shape you into a better person.

The author does a good job of introducing the reader to various methods, which can be used to persuade in your daily interactions. Bob Burg points out the importance of persuading in a respectful and tactful manner. He urges his readers to be patient, polite and persistent at all times. The book definitely offers tips that can be useful, along with recommendations of other authors and their books in this subject area for further reference.

To persuade on a college report is a lot different than to persuade in person. Nevertheless, as this book points out, the secret is logic.

The art of persuasion is more or less about the things we already know, but it has be written in a really informative way and easy to understand, learn and adapt into your daily life.I love how he explained different strategy to use in different situations. People who are beginner about persuasion should read this book.

I really enjoyed this book. Bob Burg does a great job presenting some practical conversational tools that can be and are effective in creating interactions with positive results. Although none of the information presented is revolutionary nor supported by any psychological studies, the premise of his advice is based upon the Golden Rule. This book is equally useful either as a quick read if you're looking for a crash course, general-theory-type understanding, and as a tool for slow-reading and heavy contemplation. Ive only read a handful of self-help books, but I can honestly say this is one of those books I will re-read every couple months to reinforce its lessons. Do yourself a favor and purchase this title.

Bob you are fabulous! Thank you so much for your books. I absolutely loved this one too! This book is filled with so much useful advice not just in how to persuade others but in how to become a trully fabulous person through kindness, respect, and compassion for others. This should be taught in schools. This book is brilliant I will be re reading it and instilling all the lessons and advice into my being. Thank you once again for a beautifully heart centred book. Just a little side note, there are a few typos and missed words here and there that the edirors might want to spruce up. I have the kindle version. But other than that the book is a gold mine of goodness and other book referals. I have alot of reading to do now 😊.

Bob's style of writing is perfect for the ideas he's conveying. It further proves the fact that he actually knows what he's talking about, the art of persuasion. I used to get into heated debates with people all the time about politics, religion, current events, etc. Now I either persuade them (without intimidation) or simply find middle ground and move on. This might sound exaggerated but whenever I go out and persuade people into believing something without intimidation I feel like a monk, like a goddam monk.

This book is chock full of methods - yes - but also kind and logical reasons for the methods. Bob Burg's attitude toward people seems to be - be kind to others before they can be kind to you. Even when he teaches how to be firm with somebody (when nothing else will work) the focus is still aimed at preserving the other person't dignity. Wonderful book. The world would be a better place if everybody read it through at least once.

I enjoy books like this because you can put them into use right after you read them or they reveal something you may have known but not truly acknowledged. Finding time between school and classes, I recall reading the book fervently, not being able to put it down out of fascination. I made the mistake of not highlighting the interesting parts for a quick skim, so do not make the same mistake as I did.

I am loving this book, I am half way through it... It is very informational. Most of the things so far are things I have already thought about and kind of do but he goes into more detail as to why we should do it... So it kind of motivates you to continue to be the person you want to become. It is not a book really on how to talk people into things, it is more about becoming a nicer more kind person... like the old saying "you catch more bee's with honey" kind of philosophy.
