I like Ina.

It was a good read. Inspirational even. I can’t wait to get home from my work trip to cook for my husband and friends and enjoy a beautiful cocktail.

Heartwarming and Real

While I have always loved her cookbooks, I knew nothing about Ina Garten or her life. This book tells an amazing story of grit, determination and luck. Beyond the cookbooks, Ina is a fascinating person and I didn’t want the memoir to end.

A Beautiful, Honest, and Inspiring Memoir

I absolutely loved this book. I’ve been watching Ina Garten since I was little, so getting a behind-the-scenes look at her life was such a treat. She shares stories from her childhood, how she met her husband, and even her career before stepping into the food world. I especially love the title—Be Ready When the Luck Happens—because while she acknowledges the role of luck in her journey, she also emphasizes the importance of being prepared and following your instincts. One phrase she repeats throughout the book really stuck with me: "You don’t know your good breaks from your bad ones." It’s such a thoughtful reflection on how things only make sense in hindsight. This book is honest, inspiring, and a beautiful reminder to take risks and follow your heart.
