If you've read Kiss the Villain, you would have caught Kane's cameo and who he is related to. I love Dahlia's character! She is one of my favorite Rina FMCs! She has a backbone - she knows what she wants and isn't afraid to fight for it. While Kane is a walking red flag, he is a lot tamer compared to Rina's other MMC; which I love. He is definitely a product of his environment growing up. I love his friendship with Jude and Preston! I also love how he can be vulnerable with Dahlia.Favorite scenes:▪️The club scene and what happened in the parking lot!▪️Their road trip to Maine - it is the most wholesome and sweetest moment in the whole book.▪️Their first kiss - Kane has an aversion with kissing but got obsessed with kissing Dahlia.▪️Kane saving Dahlia in the basement.

I have yet to read a Rina Kent book I haven’t loved. The formula works for me, okay?I like that Dahlia is tough and loud and easily dominated by Kane. I like that she fights him and that she even plays dirty when she needs to. I loved that she was forced to be honest with herself about what she liked during spicy times as well. That is always so well written and has me shifting in my seat.Kane was an amazing MMC as well. He was overbearing and under developed emotionally. From his childhood and from his desire for control and power. Meow. Again, idc. Something about a man tapping into the primal, nature based side is just unbearably hot to me.I am SO excited for Violet and Jude, and feeling itchy thinking about Preston and Marcus. Itchy I say.

Not that I expected much less, but I am dying to know what really happened to Violet. Even though its set in the same world as Rina's other books, it feels new. The short cameo from Hayden and Gareth was perfect.The actual story was amazing, as always. Enough mystery and intrigue to keep you guessing until the end. Kane is as psychotic and screwed up as you'd expect one of Rina's "heroes" to be, but also layered with depth and pain that still makes you root for him.My one ding... Dahlia. For the most part, she is strong, fierce, and a force to be reckoned with. But... She's also pretty self fun loved and oblivious to her own hypocrisy. (Mild spoiler ..... ). She spens the entire bok lying and on her own mission, but then when she learns she's also been lied to, she completely forgets her own sins and demands apologies and "Never lie to me again" type promises. It definitely dampened the end for me.But - please, please judge for yourself and read this book! You do not need to read anything else prior to this (Kiss the Villain does provide an excellent prologue however into the world this trilogy takes place in).
