The stakes are higher than ever for Alex Cross as he faces his most personal enemy yet: a criminal who threatens his family. Detective Alex Cross is a family man at heart: nothing matters more to him than his children, his grandmother, and his wife Bree. His love of his family is his anchor, and gives him the strength to confront evil in his work. One man knows this deeply, and uses Alex's strength as a weapon against him in the most unsettling and unexpected novel of James Patterson's career. When the ones Cross loves are in danger, he will do anything to protect them. But if he does anything to protect them, they will die. Cross My Heart is the most powerful Alex Cross novel ever, propelled by the ever-ingenious mind of James Patterson, the world's #1 bestselling writer.

OMG!!!!!!!! This book made me cry, I had to put it down just before I finished, so I could prepare to read the end. I am so worried about the Cross family, I need to start the next book.
unbelieveable, brought tears forward through the whole story !!! Alex and I had no idea what would happen!!! A Must Read to determine the faith of the whole family !!!!
I have loved every book In this series but I really do think this is the best. This is not anything like I thought it would happen. Thank God for Sampson Ned and Ava. What a great story. Now on to #22 to see how the rest of the story ends.
Wow two tough to read stories. The first story, the cop with multiple personalities, is very unique. The story behind that was good. The second story was weaved into the first brilliantly. It is the biggest cliffhanger yet in the Cross universe. My only complaint is how quick Cross went into the deep end. I would think it would be the opposite, rage. On to the next book. Cannot wait to see how this story ends. Oh, and Eva is alive!?!?
After having read the previous 20 Alex Cross novels in the series, I found some inconsistencies that disturbed me. When the character Ava was introduced in a previous book, it was stated that she was fourteen years old and hoped to attend the same charter school as Jannie. In this book it states that Jannie is fifteen years old and two years younger than Ava which would then make Ava seventeen years old. Also, in Book 1 of the Cross series, Along Came a Spider, it clearly states that the friend, John Sampson, is six feet nine inches tall. Several references are made to his size in other books of the series as well. In this book, however, it explicitly states that John Sampson is six feet five inches tall. Did he shrink?? Minor details such as these make the plot and characters realistic for the reader and should not occur in a professional writer's work. I was disappointed.
