I’ve heard so many great things about this book so I purchased it. It’s really amazing. It gives really incredible advice. If you are in any type of managerial leadership role I highly recommend that you read this book.

Great book for any crucial conversation in family, business or a relationship. We use it for a church group but good for all conversations involving high emotions and high risks.

There is a lot in this book. A lot of concepts, reading first time through - some of the connections was lost on me. But once I read it a second time, focusing more on the concepts, I was able to see the linkage. I highly recommend this book.

Good book to teach how to talk to people

Ok. First the book’s physical quality was fine. I hate the book itself. It makes it very easy to come back with any discussion as “did that really happen or are you making up a story about what happened?” Rather manipulative in it’s premise.

felt like a lot of repetitive examples

This book has guided me through many a tough conversation. It gave me the tools and insight I needed. The writing style is clear and the advice makes sense.

Good read with solid content. Likely too many different tools for my simple brain to retain and employ.

With my upbringing: only child, abusive home, dysfunctional dynamics, I didn’t realize I had a communication issue until my mid 20s. Once I started in the workforce and furthering personal relationships, I realized I had a serious communication gap, basically all around. This book taught me so much more EQ than I expected, and formulaic methods that I am bringing into my work and personal relationships. Most books around communication, I have noticed, come from a perspective of ‘how to deal with X type of villain’ and I really needed a book that deals with me, someone who is often the problem. I picked up this book while trying to clean up a mess I made, and it really answered so many more questions beyond my initial mess. I feel more equipped to be a functional human, and that is PRICELESS. Excited to implement this book in my daily life. Thx~!!!

I am grateful that my church recommended this book for me to read. I highly recommend this book to every persons for having better relationships in family, business, personal lives in all occasions! This should be a skill that is taught in our schools and colleges in all countries in the world! I believe that there will be days we shall see it happened.

Now that I have finished reading this book, I’m going to reread it. Crucial Conversations is a must-read for anyone who wants to hold must-have conversations with anyone with whom they care to resolve conflicts and disagreements, and create better understandings and solutions. It will be my lifetime resource for holding crucial conversations.

This book is great, lots of good tips. Definitely need to re-read this 2-3 times to get the hang of the concepts, but well worth it!

I was given this book as part of our professional development process by our Christian school superintendent. It is a secular book, but has excellent strategies for great communication in difficult situations. I have it underlined, highlighted and re-visit my notes often.

I really appreciated the teaching in this book, I don’t know how many times I would tell other people about it! It discussed in detail how to examine a conversation and my own motives and using tools to make a better outcome that is honest and sustainable. It definitely gave me tools to use for better relationships. More people need to understand how to communicate effectively!

Great book not only for individuals learning to improve their conflict resolution skills but it’s also perfect for a team building book club. Our production team of 14 people are currently reading this on a weekly basis together and discussing our learnings. I’ve read this book before (earlier editions) but this latest edition has a nice flow with more in-depth on the content. Highly recommend this book and re-reading it often!

I've read many books on communication over the past 15 yrs. Many of these books say the same thing over and over and are so shallow that you can find their content on dozens of blogs and online posts for free.This one...is different.Yes, it's a how-to, but instead of worksheets or affirmations, it describes what a conversation really is and how to have the best one possible.I feel the instruction in this book, while focusing on tough conversations, also applies just as easily to daily conversations. These aren't tricks-they're frameworks.I'm still reading it, but really look forward to how this will improve my conversations and relationships all over my life.
