A brilliant new crime novel from the beloved, bestselling, and award-winning master of the genre, A Dangerous Man centers on Joe Pike's most perilous case to date.
Joe Pike didn't expect to rescue a woman that day. He went to the bank same as anyone goes to the bank, and returned to his Jeep. So when Isabel Roland, the lonely young teller who helped him, steps out of the bank on her way to lunch, Joe is on hand when two men abduct her. Joe chases them down, and the two men are arrested. But instead of putting the drama to rest, the arrests are only the beginning of the trouble for Joe and Izzy.
After posting bail, the two abductors are murdered and Izzy disappears. Pike calls on his friend, Elvis Cole, to help learn the truth. What Elvis uncovers is a twisted family story that involves corporate whistleblowing, huge amounts of cash, the Witness Relocation Program, and a long line of lies. But what of all that did Izzy know? Is she a perpetrator or a victim? And how far will Joe go to find out?

Non stop action from start to finish. Pike's character is really being developed now if you have been reading the series.
Joe Pike is a mystery who gets pulled into the vortex of a kidnapping and his only connection is that he is a Good Samaritan. Any one who has read Crais will know the outcome but it’s a hell of a good time watching Pike and Cole work in tandem to right the wrong, save the gal a few times and eliminate the perp(s). Fast paced and more than a few twists and turns to satisfy this reader. Stop reading the review and start reading the book already!
I had not read a Joe Pike/ Elvis Cole book in years. I started this one and couldn’t put it down. The usual cool partnership between Elvis and Joe, another hostage saved and the bad guys get killed. Formulaic, yes but oh so enjoyable.
I could not put this book down. Characters were so well defined. Nail biting suspense. Loved it and highly recommend the read and ride
Another excellent entry in the Elvis Cole / Joe Pike action mystery series. After Pike stops two men from abducting a young woman on a busy street, he and Cole are pulled into a battle with a gang of professional killers. Telling you more would spoil the fun. 5 stars.
