Darkness of Dragons (Wings of Fire #10)

This book is very good. It is full of mystery, unexpected twists, betrayal, and more. But it is also kind of... Simple. Like, it goes by so fast. The problems are solved so quickly. And when they aren't, you're already in the vibe of problem, answer, problem, answer. So when you have to wait, it makes you super impatient. I love these books, but this one is not the best. A Tui T. Sutherland, don't get me wrong, I love these series, I love this book. But I think it doesn't have as much action as I hoped for. DONT READ THIS LIND IF YOU HAVENT READ BOOK YET: the part where Winter freezes Quibli's arm was my favorite part in the hole book. I think it could have been more dramatic though. THIS BOOK NEEDS MORE DRAMA. THATS WHAT READERS WANT. I love these books, but Tui, not your best. Still, love your work! ❤️

I liked that it was nice and informative and really interesting it wad also entertaining I couldn't put the book down!

I had to call my grandson ( age 8yrs. and a proficient reader ) to remind me of this book, the series ( which I purchased for him, after I found that he had read the first book in this series at school ) and the author. I was informed that this was a terrific book and the series was fantastic! Also to mention that every one of her books are so well written and extremely engaging, making it difficult for him to have put them down. They were all read within 2-3 days although having quite a number of pages ( at the time, his parents and I had to request that he not rush through them).He has now completed 2 of her book series and is now looking for a third. The author is now one of his favorites..

Tui T Sutherland uses awesome craft I love how in the the end I’m not gonna spoil anything but I like I love the end I also like how in kindle cause I was reading this in kindle you Can search the word and then it leads you to the places where there’s the word I like how you can leave notes it’s so much more organized and sticky notes this book is really awesome and that’s why I’m leaving the five star I have no complaints

I've been reading this series for awhile and I'm simply loving it! My 10 year old cousin recommended it to me and since I'm 13, I was skeptic about starting it because I thought it might be boring or just for kids. But as soon as I finished the first ark, I was hooked. These books are engaging, funny, violent, and create beautiful scenes in your mind. As for this book, there's a lot riding on it, (hence it being the final book in the 2nd ark.) And I think Tui handled it PERFECTLY. Qibli is a awesome, intelligent, humorous character that is perfectly suitable for the final book in the ark. I was never bored when reading this book, and Darkstalker and Vulture are truly phenomenal antagonists. The side characters like Winter and Moon contribute to the book too. SPOILER ALERT: Darkstalker desperately wanting Clearsight just like Qibli desperately wants Moon is great, the Icewing plague is great, the war is great, Qibli turning down Darkstalkers offer to make him an animus is AMAZING, and Peacemaker is a great resolution. However, when I was reading other reviews for this book, a majority of the 1-Star reviews were because of the "inappropriate" lesbian content at the end, and that annoys me big time. Your children can marry whoever they want, I have a friend whose parents are lesbien, and they are one of the nicest families I know. A boy doesn't have to marry a girl and a girl doesn't have to marry a boy, they marry whoever they click with. Plus, we already have racial segregation going on, lets focus on fixing that without starting new ways to attack people who are different. There were also some reviews saying that they were unhappy about Qibli getting Moon instead of Winter, but don't worry! Qibli clearly states in chapter 8 that him and Winter will eventually end up getting married!;) Anyways, thank you so much for reading this review! If you are torn between buying this book on the kindle or waiting to get it at the library/borrowing it from someone, I recommend buying it because you will have an excellent book forever and will be able to re-read it. ok so i love this series but seriously why did u remove darkstalker he is my favourite character and i feel some people dont like him becuse they dont under stand him but i feel like understand darkstalker i have read his history and thought about his choices any way i would have prefered him to leave a different way.i am glad u set each book from a different dragons perspective .(quick thing sokme one is copying and pasting a review to put people off)i feel that there could have been som changes but i still am reading this series i own all the books and have read them 31 times i think i will keep reading i cant wait for the posion jungle and dragonslayer to come out also graphic novel 3 i enjoy this seriess but i feel darkstalker could.have stayedd and changed .some ideasi would realy like a dragon which is a hybrid of all tribes and is called firestorm i also want fidrestorm to be an animus best series.This review is inLoving Memory Of Darkstalker

I actually enjoyed this conclusion WAY more than I enjoyed the conclusion to the Dragonets of Destiny arc. I was blown away by the twist ending and how issues were dealt with.I'd had an inkling from Moon Rising that I would enjoy Qibli's story, and it is safe to say that he is my number one favorite dragon after Glory (because she is QUEEN). Qibli's backstory was heartbreaking and made him that much more of an amazing character because he came out of a horrific situation as a good person. He struggled with doubt, always fearing he would be like his family, which is a normal thing to deal with when you're family is a bunch of raging murders and psychopaths.When Qibli saw his family again, I was genuinely worried he would fall for their tricks and become a villain (which would have been an interesting twist in the series for sure), but he stayed true to his friends, even in the face of temptation later on, and it made him that much better.I thought it was interesting that Qibli, out of all the dragons, struggled with animus magic, even though he had no powers. The concept of magic and how you could feasibly use it to fix every problem worried him more than anyone else, and he was constantly wishing he could fix everything with magic.The series ending was satisfactory and not at all what I was imaging would happen. The bridge into the next series arc was subtle, and I think it would have packed more of a punch if I didn't already have the eleventh book sitting on my shelf, because I knew Tui Sutherland had to tie in the new arc somehow.

It was decent, but had some major problems. Firstly, much like The Hidden Kingdom, the book is kind of divided into two parts, the first being Qibli going to the Kingdom of Sand and having this whole subplot with his family, and the second being them actually dealing with Darkstalker. I think that was a bad idea. Talons of Power ends on some major cliffhangers that need resolving, and nobody even tries to deal with these until halfway until the book.In addition, the ending was pretty bad. I won't spoil, but basically the whole message of this book is that you can't just use magic to change dragons however you want to. It might feel okay for you to do it, because you're the good guy and all, but this book's main theme is that it is not okay, no matter who you are, because it is not up to you to decide dragons' feelings. But the way they defeat Darkstalker... It involves changing him. Using magic. And it's never even addressed how horrible that is.Overall this was an enjoyable book. I'd still recommend it. But it could use some heavy editing. Which is understandable, considering the production schedule Tui seems to have locked herself into.

Book ten focas is on Quibli, a character that introduced in book five. He is still at school when we start. After Turtle leaves she goes through the messages he gets and Winter's whereabouts at the moment.In the dessert we get more Prince Smolder, Queen Thorn, and Ostrich. I adore those moments when Tui throws in family and relation. And the multiple hearings are extremely clever.Later the inevitable romantic drama breaks through. Moon is obviously not on Winter's side, and I was a little sad but do think that Quibli deserves are nightwing.And in the end, who knew Kinkajou would stop Darkstalker! I love how Hope and Peacemaker make their future.And Tui makes little views of the other characters, I thought that Perils was the best glimpse, because when she started sputtering I went Aaawwwww!!!😍I LOVED book ten and recommend reading this series. You might hear other reviews about this book say that it was a little inappropriate, but as a eleven year old girl, I thought it was just confusing. Tuition did an excellent job making me switch sides from Winter to Quibli and I REALLY want a book on Kinkajou! Five stars! Can't wait in till June!👏👏👏

Wings of Fire has once again proven to be an exciting adventure series. This latest entry, Darkness of Dragons, is no different and engages due to the books that come before it. Questions posed in the earlier book like where is the hidden kingdom and how will Darkstalker be dealt with fly off the pages. Qibli poses a charm and excitement to him and is a great character for this book. They way he steps into the adventure and his interactions with Darkstalker are spectacular. The same great characters and dragon quirks we have come to love are all found here. Overall the tension and plot holds up well to the very end of the book where it unfortunately does disappoint a little. I will leave that up to you the readers to decide. More visual detail would also be great to flesh out this fantasy world. In the end I can't wait for future installments of the Wings of Fire Series!

This is the 10th book in the Wings of Fire series. This was a really excellent continuation of the series. This book ties up the story arc dealing with Darkstalker and starts up a new one. Sutherland has said that there are going to be another 5 books in this series (bringing it to a total of 15 books). I have enjoyed this series but mostly continue to read it because my 10 year old son adores this series and we talk to each other about it a lot.This book centers around Qibli; the dragon who had a rough childhood and desperately wants animus magic. With most of the dragons enchanted to follow Darkstalker, Qibli is one of the few who can stop Darkstalker. Qibli uses his wits and intelligence (along with some magic objects from Turtle) to break Darkstalker’s enchantment on the other dragons and stop Darkstalker from taking over the world.We learn a lot about Qibli’s past and there is a lot about his birth family as well. As with previous books there is a lot in here about using power responsibly and about the importance of friendship. Additionally Qibli realizes that even though his birth family is pretty horrible, he can create himself a new family out of the friends and dragons who support and love him.I always think the topics and events covered in this series are a bit advanced for middle grade readers. However my son (who is 10 now) has been reading these books since he was seven or so and really loves them. These books are fun, interesting, and engaging. They also provide some food for thought.Overall this was a fantastic continuation of the Wings of Fire series. I really loved how the Darkstalker storyline was wrapped up. These books are always easy to read, engaging, and well written. I would definitely recommend to middle grade and older readers who love dragons, adventure, war, and magic.

This book is amazing and highly inspirational, wrapping you up in a tight blanket of suspense, thrill, action, mystery, and loyalty. The characters eminate a glow that makes you feel their love, hatred,and both hopefully and hopelessness. Occasionally you simply must giggle or smirk or flinch or squeeze your kindle so hard it pops. A thick, vivid world is created, scenes are painted both beautifully and tragically, and you just can't help but feel a tingling feeling, more than simple satisfaction, when you turn the lat page of this marvelous tapestry of a book. IT BETTER NOT BE THE LAST ONE.If there happens to BE a next book, ( of which I am hearing soepeople say they loved the " series finale" and some writing they are eager for the next ( or five? ) books) I hope the narrater will be for Moon or Kinkajou. Honestly, this book was fanominally breathtaking, but Moon Rising was my second, due to character perspective and events. I love it when authors give you a hint or a detail beforehand in the book that presently seems dirley insignificant and turns out to carral all the story and make you bubble with anticipation and think WHY DIDN'T I NOTICE THAT.Meanwhile, Kinkajou is a ferociously wonderful butterfly of loyalty, a well- formed character who can only be described as teeming with strong joy that is only given to her - nope. Her joy is given to her friends AND all those aroud her, whether they like it or not, no matter how adorably annoying she may be. She is above and beyond the dictionary description of lovable. It would be equally fascinating to see the Jade Winglet's next adventure through her eyes.And then there is Clay. He started off this series, so why shouldn't he finnish it? ( Not that the next book should be the last one. It better not. )Finally there is " The Legends " . I strongly believe and suggest that there be at the least one more Legend book, regardless of what dragonly tale and\ or secrets it behold.One more thing: enemies. Exquisite. Darkstalker could be both loathed and empathised, and often an unstable combination of both. But by far my favorite villan was Queen Scarlet. A refreshingly evil female; powerful, clever, and you couln' t think she was good. Never. True, Darkstlker was a great nemesis, a simply ( almost ) indestructible challenge, but no one was as thirsty as Queen Scarlet. Revenge- wise, power- wise, and blood-wise. I know spreading out the evil amoung characters is good, but have a truly COMMON enemy. P.S. : These books are plain amazing. Once diving in, there' s no diving out from Sutherland's WONDERFUL series brimmed with action, color, betrayal, love and DRAGONS.

this book is about a sandwing named Qibli, a student at jade mountain academy. he is very concerned about darkstalkers attitude. Darkstalker is a very powerful animus dragon who lived two thousand years ago and been betrayed by his friend Fathom and maybe his girlfriend Clearsight. he is determind to get revenge. as everyone knows if one uses its animus magic against evil and uses to much they may lose their soul and go crazy. Darkstalker is a future seer and a mind reader which is awful. Qibli may have caused trouble for both himself from darkstalker as well as his own tribe.Qibli has no magic to use against darkstalker,just his poisonous tail. he cat use that ,darkstalkers made himself invincible! despite the fact that he has a terrible crush on a nightwing named moon,whom handsome (not really) prince winter of the ice wings also loves. will Quibli be the hero hes always dreamed of or will ha make wverthing worse? check out all the books in this mind blowing series!!!-Irene

I started reading the WOF series when my 10 year old became obsessed with them. They're really good books. Highly addictive, good vs evil with good winning, promoting bravery and friendship. They're great and this most recent book is no exception. It's interesting, tense, and we'll written.My only real problem with it comes in the epilogue when it is revieled that one of the more prominent characters has a crush on a dragon of the same gender (and the fact that it's a same gender crush is no big deal). I'm sure lots of people will like that, but many may dislike it as well. It's an unnecessary story point, so I'm not sure what the author's motivation was in writing it that way, except to subtly promote gay/lesbian relationships. Again, many people will like that, but if you're of a more conservative leaning, it is worth knowing about before your kid reads it, even if for no other reason than to be ready to discuss it.
