'Tis the season for second chances in this charming and delightful festive romcom--perfect for fans of Maggie Knox and Jenny Bayliss.
He has one month to make a Christmas miracle happen.
Laney Reynolds knows there's only one place that can help her heal a broken heart: Cherrywood Creek. The small town where she grew up, with its holiday festivals and snow-covered streets, is exactly where she needs to be this December. It feels good to leave the bustling city, where her husband was too busy climbing the corporate ladder to notice the growing distance between them. But she's got his attention now . . .
Connor received his wake-up call loud and clear when Laney left, and there's no way he's giving up on his marriage. If that means dropping everything and trading high-rises for gingerbread houses to sweep his wife off her feet in her hometown, then so be it. This time, he's listening; but it'll take more than hot chocolate dates and even hotter nights to win Laney back. Can he prove that being a CEO is nowhere near as important as being her husband?Β

4.5 stars!Iβm really picky about the marriage in crisis trope, and this one really worked for me. As a reader, I need the conflict in the marriage to be believable and yet something that can be overcome in a way that brings the couple back together in a healthy way. I thought this book got the trope exactly right! I completely understood why Laney left, and yet I was confident that she and Connor could work it out and be better because of it. Their rekindled relationship built so slowly and sweetly. The book covered some heavier topics but in a way that was very easy to read. The audiobook is narrated by Monique Makena and Max Rauch. Their voices were perfect for the characters and so well done. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a cute holiday romance!

Connor is working hard to win his wife back, and there are a few twists and surprises along the way as they try to rebuild what they once had.
Date Night in December by Jaqueline Snowe swept me right into Laney and Connorβs world from the first chapter. Laneyβs had enough; sheβs leaving her husband and heading back home to her parents, hoping for a fresh start and a little peace. But Connorβs not giving up that easily. When he shows up on her parentsβ doorstep with one last proposal, things take a turn that had me completely hooked. This story was such a tender reminder of what it means to love deeply and fight for that connection. I really loved watching Laney and Connor rediscover themselves both as individuals and as partners. Their chemistry felt so real, like a couple with years of history, love, and hurt between them. Itβs more than just a holiday romance; itβs about second chances, forgiveness, and the quiet beauty of choosing each other again. The βdate nights in Decemberβ idea was such a sweet touch. It gave the story structure and warmth, and the small-town setting made everything feel even cozier. That hometown comfort mixed with absolute emotional honesty? Perfection. If you love stories about marriage, rebuilding trust, and rekindling old sparks, this oneβs for you. Itβs heartfelt, hopeful, and beautifully written. And letβs talk about the audiobook. Monique Makena and Max Rauch absolutely nailed it! Their voices fit Laney and Connor perfectly, capturing every laugh, sigh, and tear. They added so much depth and warmth to the story that I couldnβt stop listening.Date Night in December truly felt like a Hallmark movie come to life in the best way possible. Date Night in December is a standalone title featuring a marriage in crisis for Laney and Connor, and their second chance to save what they once had. Itβs not that they donβt still love each other; they do. Itβs more of a loss of who they were together, drifting apart until Laney could stand the distance no longer and acted. Dealing with those real issues isnβt going to be easy, yet Connor is determined to win his wife back to his side, no matter how hard that may turn out to be.I enjoyed Date Night in December by Jaqueline Snowe on many levels. Itβs easy to see how a marriage can get to this point. Yetβ¦ I might have understood Laneyβs actions better if Iβd seen how her marriage was disintegrating before her eyes instead of just being told about it. One or two scenes would have been enough to have me firmly on her side, but what I saw was Connor doing all the work to save a marriage where there was no hatred; there was deep love, but it wasnβt being seen or felt by Laney. Iβm not going to nitpick about characters and their actions; itβs not my story to write, I just know what would have taken my enjoyment to the next level, and that would have been less telling and more showing.Date Night in December is a good book; at its core, itβs a compelling journey to forgiveness and a future with changes that matter. I wish I could have loved it, but sometimes I have to be content with liking and enjoying a coupleβs journey.*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley, and I sincerely thank the author or publishing house for their trust.
