Wow. I did not think Jones could outdo himself but he did. The story kept me engaged from start to finish and I never wanted to stop reading. Jade is back. She has a new slasher to fight who knows all the rules, and how to break them. Will she survive again? This book was great. I can’t wait for book 3!
As in Chainsaw, the writing is excellent, and the plot is fresh and original. This book was fantastic, and I am immensely looking forward to the next book in the series.
I'm a big fan of SGJ personally and professionally. I dig that we have a great horror voice in the native community and a great voice in horror in general. You can tell he's a fanboy. This one didn't do everything I wanted. Loved my heart is a chainsaw. We all bought the t-shirt. But things tend to get a little jumbled in his writing. You'll be able to tell what I'm talking about. It's usually when things get chaotic in the story. It happens at the end of Chainsaw as well.We all do love that we get to have more time with Jade Daniels.
Like its predecessor, Chainsaw, this second book of the Indian Lake trilogy is a fantastic, bloody romp while delving deep into the history of horror and the slasher sub genre in particular. The heroine, Jade is such a scrappy badass, anyone who’s lived on the fringe or even just visited should identify and root for her from the edge of their seat…
This book I think I liked more than Chainsaw and that was tough to do. Stephen Graham Jones is quickly becoming my favorite horror writer. This book just kicks you in the teeth (and in the heart).
