Don't Let Him in

Wow. That ending made me yell “YES”! This is a twisty tale of a slippery man, told from alternating perspectives, one of which is his. It’s a look inside the mind of a sociopath who has a knack for divining the needs and wants of women. But sometimes he loses control and bad things happen. This is one of those novels that you read through your fingers, metaphorically, like a scary movie. Oh, the delicious anxiety and the satisfaction of the ending.

Lisa Jewel is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint with this book. It had me hooked from the start - I couldn’t wait to see what happened next! A real page turner & I thoroughly enjoyed it

I love Lisa Jewell's books. This one was good, but not her best!

After the first few chapters, I decided I had to keep notes. I went back and wrote down the characters, which allowed me to refer back to them when things got confusing (which was often). I did enjoy this book and the ending was satisfying to me.

It was definitely a little confusing at first, and I had to reread a couple chapters in the beginning, but that’s just because there was a lot of characters and perspectives. It definitely was a problem on my end and not the book itself! I love the little twist at the end and I love how everything comes together!

I always enjoy books from Lisa Jewell, but this book I could not put down. The different perspectives made it for a captivating read. I’ve never hated a character more than the one in this book. I was waiting for their downfall and was happy with the ending. The other characters were written so well and you can empathize with each of them.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, it's totally addictive and even though it was predictable in a lot of ways, the myriad amount of characters (victims) that kept showing up made it consistently super interesting. So, def get this if you want a book you cannot put down. SPOILER- However, I wasn't satisfied with the ending.. and basically, it ended exactly the way I knew it would- with the possibility of a sequel, rather than allowing true closure. To me, this felt disappointing, a total cop out.

It took me a little while to get into the rhythm of the book but it was so worth it to keep going. I kept thinking that writing this book must have been a real challenge. I don’t want to give anything away but this book is wonderful. You won’t be sorry you read it.

I loved the storyline and build up, but the ending was a little lackluster. Definitely a fun interesting read though!

I could not put this book down! Don't Let Him In is packed with twists, turns, and a mix of intriguing characters that kept me guessing the whole way through. Just when I thought I had it figured out, something new would happen. The suspense built perfectly, and the ending was amazing. I was on the edge of my seat. This is a must read for any thriller fan!!

Finally! A book I loved! Finally, a book that's smart and scary in a weirdish way because it really felt like this situation has happened before. It felt real. And Lisa Jewell wrote it with such authority, that I couldn't stop wanting to read into the next scene and chapter. The villain is so bad, yet he's funny. You know him, yet still you balk at his antics and crimes. He's just so awful. He's also so narcissistic that you nod your head and say to yourself that you've seen shades of this behavior before. Maybe on television. Maybe, even, in real life. To me, the badder (in a realistic way) the better. This was fantastic and I highly recommend this novel. Jewell's best work yet.

Lisa Jewell has written another masterpiece. I've read most of her novels, and "Don't Let Him In" is her 2025 offering so far. Adeptly written, she brings all of her characters to life, with colorful descriptions so vivid, the reader can "see" the characters. You will get wrapped up into this thriller and the players, even those who possess little redeeming attributes, and you will share their fears, angst, and tension.

A great read! From the very beginning I had figured out how Paddy's death really occurred, but the characters kept me reading! I can't understand, however, what did it mean where Ash dicovered the font, paper etc matched the letter she received from Nick matched letters she received from Ritchie? Nick wasn't even in the picture whe she knew Ritchie. Can anyone help,

Loved this book! I listened to the audiobook version as well, and loved the narrators. There were multiple pov's, daughter to a recently deceased father/husband, wife to a man named Alister, and Alister himself, or Nick, or James, or Damien… the story is about the MMC and how he has inserted himself in the lives of several women, conned them out of their money and sometimes their hard earned savings, and then he disappears for days/weeks at a time, where he is usually with his new conquest, his new mark. The more the story unfolded, it just really made me sick!! You really feel like you can hear his thoughts on how little he thinks of these women, and other people he's affecting. There were definitely good twists in here. Can't go wrong with a Lisa Jewell book!!

If you can't handle an antagonist ruin women' s lives don't read this book. He's the lowest of the low! The first 50% of the book is this. I won't reveal the other half

While I enjoyed this story I found it hard to follow at times. So many different characters and switching back and forth between different years, it was hard to keep track of

I was entertained by this book. The premise of a serial con man/philanderer sometimes murderer was a bit off the wall, but it kept me wondering what he'd do next. There were no likeable characters in it. Everyone seemed very gullible and needy. The switching from 4 years ago to today etc made it a bit confusing and all the names of his victims were hard to keep straight. Overall I found it readable until the ending which I found to be strange. It seems like endings are hard to do for writers for sure.

I had read about 6 of Lisa Jewell's books previously. All of them were great but this one takes the prize.The attention to detail, weaving together the story and her laguage use. All very impressive.I love that theres so much essence to the characters and though about crime, not a lot of "too violent" descriptions. Sorry to say this to my fellow Americans, but like watching an American made crime drama in comparison to a Brittish made one. So much more tasteful and interestingly written without relaying on gory details for effect.Thank you Lisa.Please keep writing:)))

Lisa Jewell is a master storyteller, and you can take that to the bank and cash it. To take such intense material and lay it out in smooth, yet gripping succession, never missing a beat--literally. Sorry, but this is a solid five-star read. Anything less has to do with being uncomfortable with characters who are not perfect; even when they do the right thing, there are hints that this person has a weakness within.Human.That's the thing about Lisa Jewell. Nobody, not even literary fiction authors, crafts humanity through and through without going overboard, without forcing plot points, like Lisa Jewell. I even read her last book, Break The Dark, about superheroes, and those characters came through exceptionally human. I'm sure that's why Marvel asked her to write it.If you haven't read "Don't Let Him In" yet--enjoy the ride! It's going to be bumpy. It's going to be intense. And you will not want to stop until the end.

Very disturbing subject that you read about in headlines and in the news. This is one I'll think about for a while. The plot wasn't as good as previous novels, thus the four stars. I guessed all the twists and turns. Nothing was a shock. But still, another great thriller from one of my fav authors!
