Annabelle Reynolds has everything she's ever wanted. A devoted husband, two wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. She couldn't be happier. So why is she suddenly plagued by disturbing dreams of a future where she hates her husband and her daughters' lives are at risk? At first, she chalks the dreams up to an overactive imagination. But when details from her dreams, details she couldn't possibly have predicted, begin to materialize, she realizes these aren't just dreams but rather premonitions of a terrifying future. They all point to a singular choice, an unknown moment that holds Annabelle's life in the balance.
Then Annabelle has a dream that her daughter Scarlett is in immediate danger. Someone wants Scarlett dead, and Annabelle has no idea who or why. Suddenly, every choice she makes is fraught with peril, with no inkling of which move could bring this terrifying vision to life. As Annabelle's present life starts to collide with the future in her dreams, she wrestles with how much control she really has over her destiny and whether she can change what is meant to be.

Superb book and narration. I could not put it down. Best book I’ve read lately, Looking for more by this author
I am a big fan of Liv Constantine so I was super excited about their newest book. It was such a fun ride. The pacing was great and different POVs kept me engaged. The characters were not really likeable but that didn't affect how I feel about the story. Great thriller!I received a free copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is a twisty, emotionally charged psychological thriller that doesn’t just keep you on the edge of your seat—it forces you to question how much control we really have over the future, and what we’d risk to protect the ones we love.Annabelle Reynolds has what looks like the perfect life: a respected career in social media marketing, a doctor husband who adores her, and two daughters she would do anything for. But the illusion of peace starts to crumble when Annabelle begins having vivid, disturbing dreams—visions so detailed and specific they feel like memories from a life she hasn’t yet lived. When those dreams start coming true, it becomes clear that these aren’t coincidences. They’re premonitions. And one of them reveals something unthinkable: someone wants her daughter Scarlett dead. What follows is a high-stakes unraveling of everything Annabelle thought she knew. As she scrambles to alter a future that seems terrifyingly inevitable, her grip on her family, her sanity, and her sense of control begins to slip. Her husband James—the supportive partner she believed in—is suddenly more skeptical and secretive. Her daughter is hiding something. And the dreams? They won’t stop.Told through multiple perspectives, including Annabelle, Scarlett, and a mysterious figure known only as “The Wife,” the novel builds tension expertly, layering suspense, emotional depth, and just the right touch of paranoia. Constantine doesn’t rely on cheap tricks. The twists are rooted in character and consequence, and they land hard. The pacing is intentionally measured at first, giving readers time to sit in Annabelle’s dread and confusion. But once the second half kicks in, it’s a full-blown thriller sprinting toward a climax that delivers in spades. Just when you think you’ve got it figured out—when you’re sure you know what the dreams mean or who’s pulling the strings—another bomb drops. What makes Don’t Open Your Eyes truly stand out is its emotional core. Annabelle isn’t just running from danger—she’s fighting to reclaim agency over her life, to protect her daughter, and to trust her own instincts when no one else will. The themes of maternal fear, trauma, gaslighting, and the unknowable edges of fate and free will make this more than just a twisty thriller. It’s a deeply human story about intuition, love, and the terrifying idea that we might see disaster coming—and still be powerless to stop it.This is Constantine at her best: razor-sharp, chilling, and impossible to put down. If you love thrillers that mess with your mind, break your heart, and keep you reading way past bedtime, this one belongs at the top of your list.
Don't Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is a twisted psychological/domestic thriller that follows Annabelle, a woman who starts to have dreams that become her reality.Annabelle seems to be living a perfect life. She is married to James, a handsome and devoted doctor, they have two daughters and her career as a social media consultant is just what she loves to do. But when she has a dream where her husband hates her and her daughter is in danger she is a little shaken. Why if her life is so happy is she dreaming like that? And then parts of Annabelle's dream start to come true. Coincidence or could these be premonitions? As James starts to become more secretive and her older daughter starts to rebel, it feels like Annabelle's fragile hold on her reality is slipping.Wow. I definitely thought that this book was going to go one way, then it went completely in a new direction. The first bit was a little slow, but understandable for character development and laying the foundation for the plot. But then it steadily increased the suspense and I raced through the second half of the book! The alternating POVs are a brilliant way of leaving little crumbs to tie the whole story together. With as many twists as this book has you won't know who to trust at all! If you like complex and twisted thrillers with plenty of family drama definitely give this one a chance!Thank you to NetGalley, Liv Constantine, and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine Bantam for this ARC! Wow. What a fantastic read. I wasn’t even a full chapter in when my heart STOPPED for the first (and definitely not the last) time. By chapter 6, I was absolutely dreading where this book was headed. It was such an innocent question, and one I would’ve 100% answered at 15 without no hesitation, but as a mom, I knew exactly what it meant, and I instantly felt sick. My gut was screaming the entire book. I had so many theories and every single one ended up being wrong. When the reveal finally hit, I was surprised, but everything came together with her visions and how she tried to piece them together kept me hooked the whole way through, and made the reveal that much better. And I LOVED those smaller twists! They added so much extra but just enough it and really worked with the main storyline. This book had me in such a chokehold. I read it in 2 days. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because something about Randy felt unresolved for me. After the reveal about Lucas, I was hoping we’d hear from present-day Randy for some reason. That part left me feeling a little unfinished. But overall? Such a great read. This was my first book by Liv Constantine and now I want to read more

Superb book and narration. I could not put it down. Best book I’ve read lately, Looking for more by this author
4.5 ⭐I've read a couple books from this author and loved them so I was excited when I was approved to read this book! This book did not disappoint! It is told in 3 points of view and a Before and Current timeline. I enjoyed seeing the story unfold through their eyes. It did start off a little slow but a little after halfway through it picked up. The first plot twist was crazy, but then there was a second plot twist at the end! I definitely recommend reading this book of you like a good twisty thriller.Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for this ARC
This is a weird (to me) premise, and I was not too sure about reading it, but I trust these authors, yes, it is two sisters, and I gave it a chance. While it is certainly out of my normal box, I definitely enjoyed it. Annabelle is living her best life when she begins having alarming dreams detailing bad things happening to her husband and daughters. When certain things from the dreams start coming true, Annabelle becomes more concerned and afraid that they are premonitions. She becomes more and more paranoid and thus begins a tale full of twists and suspense. The story is told from multiple POV's and dual timelines centering on present-day Annabelle and Annabelle in her childhood. It did take a minute to get into the flow, but once I did, I was hooked. Many thanks to Liv Constantine for once again not disappointing me! Can't wait to see what's next!Thank you to #NetGalley, Liv Constantine and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Bantam for this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Annabelle Reynolds has everything she’s ever wanted. A devoted husband, two wonderful daughters, and a career she loves. But she has dreams where she tells what will happen in the future. When things happen, she knows something is up. She dreams someone wants her daughter Scarlett dead and her past begins to collide with her future. Are her dreams connected to her past?I read this one in one day! I loved the way the chapters went from person to person and backstory to the present day. It was not confusing at all to keep up with and it tied together in the end in a way I did not see coming. Another great Liv Constantine book!
The pacing in the book was well done, kept me interested from beginning to end. The characters had great development, showing growth and their true colors. I did not see the big reveal in the end coming and enjoyed being surprised by the course of events. Liked how the past and present intertwined throughout the story. Could have been a little longer to go into how certain plot points that were later brushed over. Overall a well executed psychological thriller i will definitely recommend to others.
Another fun and twisty read by this dynamic duo! Thank you NetGalley for my ARC! Annabelle and James and happily married with two daughters but Annabelle keeps having these dreams that come true. Is she predicting the future? James thinks she’s stressed and needs to stop working. One reoccurring dream revolves around a client of hers. What does it mean? The story just twists at every chapter until the very end! 4.5 stars
The queens of plot twists are back!If you love psychological thrillers that keep you constantly questioning what's real, what's not and who to trust, Don't Open Your Eyes is an absolute must-read. Again, Liv Constantine spins a brilliant web of deceit, secrets, and unexpected connections that had me hooked from the very first page.Annabelle seems to have it all, a loving husband, two beautiful daughters, & a fulfilling career. From the outside this idyllic existence is shattered by deeply disturbing dreams. These aren't just fleeting nightmares; they are vivid premonitions of a future where her love for her husband has turned to animosity and her daughters' lives are in danger. Unsettling things begin happening and Annabelle's dreams seem to come true. I loved the writing style, character development & multiple twists!
When dreams become nightmares, you might want to keep your eyes open! In Don't Open Your Eyes, Annabelle is a married woman with two daughters and a great career. She appears to have it all, but what she doesn't have is peaceful sleep. Annabelle is having dreams which for some reason are slowly coming true to a degree. Annabelle is feeling stressed and Jason, her husband is far from supportive. The Annabelle has a dream that her daughter, Scarlett is in danger....This book is told through the POV's of various characters (Annabelle in the present, Scarlett, and Annabelle in the past) and using two timelines. For the first half of the book, I found myself scratching my head and wondering just what the heck is going on? Are the dreams premonitions? I had no clue what was happening. All I knew was that I wanted to know more.I had no idea where this book was heading for most of the book. I felt lost yet I was enjoying the plot. I enjoyed the tension and the dread that Annabelle was feeling. I never saw the various twists and turns coming. Overall, an enjoyable book that kept me on my toes and wondering what would happen next!Mysterious, twist filled, and full of tension!
4 🌟Don’t Open Your Eyes by Liv Constantine is exactly what I want in a psychological thriller—fast-paced, full of secrets, and just the right amount of over-the-top drama. From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The story is full of tension and mind games, and I was constantly trying to figure out who to trust (spoiler: pretty much no one). The authors do a great job balancing suspense with juicy twists, and there were definitely moments that had me flipping pages late into the night. It’s the kind of book that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that made it all the more fun.My only small complaint is that some parts felt a little familiar if you’ve read a lot of thrillers—but honestly, I was so caught up in the story I didn’t mind too much.If you’re in the mood for a bingeable, twisty read that will keep you guessing, this one’s a great pick. Thanks to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for the ARC!
3.75 stars rounded up to 4This was such a fun, bingeable read! I read it in less than 36 hours over Memorial Day weekend as I simply could not put it down and had to find out how it ended! I was hooked from the first chapter.Annabelle, a mom of 2 and wife of a brilliant Neurologist, has the life she's always wanted. But she has been having dreams that appear to be premonitions of the future. It makes her question her daily life as she works to prevent her dreams from happening in real life. In the meantime, her daughter Scarlett, has been chatting with a boy named Ben online and has plans to meet him in person (smart, right?)This book is told in multiple POVs, switching between Annabelle (then and now) and her daughter Scarlett. There is also a mysterious "wife" who really comes in to play in the last quarter of the book.It was a super enjoyable, fast-paced, and entertaining read. The twist at the end wasn't necessarily my favorite, but it did tie up a majority of the open-ended questions that were presented throughout the book.
My thoughts and feelings about this book are a mixed bag. I started this book immediately hooked. The story is told mainly from Annabelle’s perspective but there are two other people who pop up. At times we get a chapter from Annabelle’s daughter, Scarlett’s view and there a few thrown in that are from The Wife. Who’s the wife, well that’s part of the twists. There are twists galore throughout the book. It’s just a whole big web of deception as the story builds. A number of characters aren’t who you think they are. Some of them look like that perfect present under the Christmas tree but when you open it up, it’s just a pile of coal. This book was like a train wreck you can’t look away from.As much as I sped through it and ate it up, as we hit the high point of the book, I found my feelings deflating a bit. I feel like there were one too many twists and I started to feel like it went a tad over the top. Some of the reactions from characters, some of the characters themselves were just a bit much. Having said that, this is an easy to read, suck you in thriller and I’m glad I was able to read it. I’d give it 3 to 3.5 stars.Thank you to Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group/Ballantine for the Arc.
Finished this in 24 hours but could have done it in one sitting. FANTASTIC read! Quick summary:Annabelle has the seemingly perfect life- a successful career with social media marketing, a beautiful home, two daughters she adores and a husband who worships the ground she walks on. It seems that she should be able to lay her head down at night and rest peacefully, but that is not the case. Annabelle has recently started waking up in a panic, as her dreams have become more real and increasingly more disturbing. What's even more concerning is that her dreams are starting to play out into her real life, down to the exact detail. Are her dreams warning her of what's to come? Does she have any control of changing the outcome? Will anyone even believe that her dreams are predicting the future? Her husband, who also happens to be a neurologist, thinks she needs to get back in with her therapist. He is convinced that the stressors in her life are just too much and there's a reasonable explanation for her dreams. Annabelle knows better and she won't just chalk this up to stress + anxiety or an overactive imagination, especially not when her dreams are showing someone in her family is in danger. This was a book that I did not want to put down. The twists completely blew my mind, nothing happened that I expected might. It was all so much better! Liv Constantine knows exactly how to deliver a gripping thriller. At first, I was getting some paranormal vibes & wasn't excited because that's not what I was expecting with this book. If you feel that way while you're reading, trust me when I say to hold on a little longer because it will all come together, and you will likely NOT be disappointed. The last few chapters are completely packed with twist and turns you don't see coming.I cannot give enough praise for Don't Open Your Eyes Expected to release on 6-17-25, I highly suggest making this one a priority read!
I was unsure what to expect when I picked up this book. I have heard about Liv Constantine for the past couple of years, but I haven’t had a chance to check out the books yet. The title and the cover captured my attention. Once I read the book's synopsis, I was even more intrigued and needed to find out what would happen. I have read a lot of mystery/ thriller books. Don't Open Your Eyes is unlike any thriller I have read. I am still trying to process the story. The plot took so many unexpected turns that I eventually stopped attempting to predict what would happen next. I love the idea behind the story, dreams that end up coming true? I can't even begin to understand Annabelle's feelings of fear, especially since she didn't know when it might occur. I understand why her husband, James, responded the way he did, but he could have handled it better. I sensed something strange about him from the start, but I couldn't figure out what. I just knew I didn't trust him.I enjoyed reading the book from several perspectives, primarily because the characters were all different. I did occasionally shake my head at Scarlett's decisions. I had a feeling it would bring her into trouble someday. It was intriguing to read from the perspective of a teenager. Scarlett annoyed me at times, especially when it came to how she handled her mother, but her character grew on me. The descriptions of the characters' emotions, particularly Annabelle, were fantastic; I could sense her anxiety. Overall, all the details were so clear that I could envision everything, like a movie playing in my head. The first few pages were slow for me, and there were few character conversations that didn’t feel realistic to me. Once the plot picked up, I couldn’t stop reading, I was constantly on the edge of my seat. I loved Annabelle, even if at times it didn’t seem like it, she was a strong character, and no matter what was happening, she kept on going. I felt like I should seen it coming, but with all the twists and turns in the book, the ending was the most shock of all. Those at the types of books that are my favorites, the ending that you didn’t see coming. I’m so thrilled that I got a chance to read this book! I would recommend this to any thriller/ mystery fans. Be prepared for a exhilarating ride!
DON’T OPEN YOUR EYES by one of the Liv Constantine pair is a thrill ride a minute! In Bayport, Connecticut, Annabelle Reynolds has an enviable life. With a devoted husband, James and 15-year-old Scarlett and 11 year old Olivia, she moves through her days at her marketing job with ease. But then she begins having catastrophic dreams. She dreams of a future where she hates her husband and her oldest daughter‘s life is in peril. When some of her dreams start happening during the waking day, she fears that they are premonitions of what is to come. Annabelle has worked hard to attain her goals in life, caring for her mother during college, and eventually losing the man of her dreams. He was the boy she couldn’t forget. But James has always been right by her side. Scarlett has been leading a secret life online. She is in contact with Ben and over time has told him everything regarding her mother and her family. Ben has been there for Scarlet but does not want her to tell her family about him just yet. He advises her on her relationship was with her family. Is this why Scarlet will be in such danger? Can her mother do anything to protect her if she is unaware of the relationship to begin with? When Annabel is assigned a new account at work, she realises that the man she will work with, Chase, has played a prominent role in her dreams. He tells her about his struggling marriage with wife Tara and his very close relationship with his son, Lucas, who was apparently a miracle baby after Tara suffered many miscarriages and the death of one baby. As Annabel and Chase grow closer, she struggles to keep their relationship strictly professional. When Scarlet is run down in the street, Tara is arrested and revelations about past misdeeds come to light. The explosive conclusion left my head spinning. As we’ve come to expect with a Liv Constantine novel, the twists and turns come fast and furious at the end. When I felt myself going down one road, I was quickly redirected down another. The mark of a good book! The writing was clear and concise which led to an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to see where the authors, together or individually take me next. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for this ARC opportunity. All opinions are my own and given voluntarily.
Annabelle Reynolds is out here living the dream — if your dream is stress-sweating through psychic nightmares while your husband gaslights you with the soft voice of a man who definitely has secrets in a crawlspace. This woman is seeing full-on disasters before they happen, and everyone around her is like, “Have you tried yoga?” Ma’am. She is predicting death. And not in a cute fortune cookie way. Real plane crashes, real bodies, real “you might be the problem” energy. The vibes? Haunted. The support system? Flimsy. The urge to throw the whole husband in the trash? Immediate. At first, it’s easy to root for her. She’s trying to stay grounded, protect her family, and not get committed, which is harder than it sounds when you're waking up from plane crashes that just happened IRL. But then the book starts yanking her support system away like it's playing a mean little game of domestic Jenga. Husband? Distant. Friends? Sketchy. Therapist? There was one, but let’s just say that door quietly closed — and not in the “she’s cured!” way. Honestly, the most reliable people in this book are the nightmare specters, and even they’re being a little cryptic. This whole thing reads like if “The Gift” and “Sharp Objects” had a baby that was raised on Adderall and subtle gaslighting. The vibes? Immaculately unsettling. There's a slick, glossy layer of tension that never breaks — you’re always waiting for someone to stab her in the back or for the dreams to go full "Final Destination." Every chapter piles on just enough dread to keep your jaw clenched and your trust issues screaming. Now let’s talk marriage, because OH. The husband dynamic made me want to crawl out of my own skin. I won’t spoil anything, but the “supportive spouse” mask starts slipping about five seconds after Annabelle opens up about her dreams, and suddenly we’re knee-deep in those terrifyingly calm conversations where you just know one person is mentally replacing you with a Stepford doll. Watching her fight to hold on to herself, her family, and her sanity — while being dismissed like she’s just tired or hormonal — had me ready to throw hands. Or wine. Or both. There are some pacing bumps, especially when the plot splits into timelines or starts chasing side characters like a dog with too many tennis balls. And yes, not every twist hits as hard as it wants to — and even if the dream stuff doesn’t totally stick the landing, that creeping “what the hell is happening?” energy kept me flipping pages like a gremlin in a blackout.By the end, I didn’t know who to trust, whether Annabelle would make it out with her family or her sanity intact, or whether I was gonna need a sedative myself. And I kind of loved that. "Don't Open Your Eyes" thrives in that anxious gray area between dream logic and domestic drama, and while I didn’t want to live there forever, I fully respect the haunting chaos it delivers. Solid 3.5 stars.Big thanks to Random House Publishing Group and NetGalley for the ARC, and for letting me spiral through a psychic meltdown from the comfort of my couch. You have no idea how much emotional whiplash I’m willing to endure for free.
Dream or premonition? Annabelle is having dreams that are coming true. Her dreams are more like premonitions. It’s like déjà vu. Her husband James is resistant to the idea and not convinced Annabelle is having premonitions. Her knee jerk reaction to alter the timeline is concerning to James.…James and Annabelle have two daughters. James is the overprotective father while Annabelle is more lenient. Both agree that the girls need to learn to be responsible when it comes to social media. Protecting young girls is vital to the safety of them. Unfortunately, monitoring they’re every interaction online can be difficult.…Annabelle took care of her ailing mother. It’s been the two of them since Annabelle was six when her father left to start a new life. Annabelle’s never forgiven her father for abandoning them. Taking care of her mother was overwhelming at times with her trying to start her career.…Liv Constantine writes an excellent story about a mother and wife who has dreams about impending doom upon her daughter and husband. The craziest part is that the things she’s dreaming actually happen. Annabelle does her best to change the way things happen to prevent the worst from happening. It’s a smart intelligent story that’s executed beautifully. I’m captivated by this story. It’s the type of story that delivers unexpected surprises at every turn. I’m on pins and needles awaiting the outcome of these dreams. Everything centers around these dreams. I’m curious where Liv Constantine is going with these dreams. The closer I get to the end the more anxious I get. I’m buzzing with excitement trying to determine what’s at play here.…A book requires a writer and a reader to become successful. Not all writers and readers align. Sometimes a book has exceptional writing yet the reader doesn’t understand the writing voice. Then there are books with less than stellar writing skills and the reader doesn’t want to finished reading. The equation isn’t as clear set as you would expect. In this case, everything aligned in the right sequence. This book checks off all the boxes for a superb read.…Mind boggling ending. I enjoyed this book from start to finish. What an amazing conclusion. I hadn’t seen that ending happening that way at all. I’m thrilled by the closure found in this story. This one will resonate with me for years to come.
