When a witch plays with fire, she might just ignite a love that can't be extinguished...

Newly-minted Historian of the soon-to-be-ascended Riverwood Coven Georgie Pendell has always played her part--so why does she feel like an outsider in her own life? Duped and dumped by her boyfriend, Georgie finds herself dismissing love as a fairytale. But when the words she reads aloud from an enchanted storybook free a dragon shifter, everything changes.

Georgie finds herself drawn to the dragon in ways she didn't think were even possible for her, and her dragon, with his fiery golden gaze, all but claims Georgie as his own. But beneath his scorching intensity lies a secret, one that stretches back into the ancient past.

With the Joywood Coven still finding ways to upend the new order of the witching world, Georgie and her coven will need to prove themselves up to the task of being in charge, and right the wrongs their predecessors committed--if they can uncover the truth. Because something is missing. Something that will stop the Joywood once and for all. Something that only a Historian and an ancient dragon can find.

the best one yet

If you love happy endings and answers to your questions then this book is it. The characters are easy to like and root for. All of the combinations of things are present. I wish I could see how it ends

Wonderful conclusion to the series

Review first posted at Girl Who Reads. All opinions are my own.Georgie Pendell is the new Historian of the Riverwood Coven, and she always felt like an outsider in her own life. Reading from a storybook frees a dragon shifter, and he lays claim to her. She is drawn to him as well and feels he has a secret from the past. The Joywood is still causing trouble, and the Riverwood Coven must find something that will stop them for good.Georgie's tendency to talk to the newel post when troubled had always been seen as a fun quirk for a kooky person. But after catching her boyfriend in flagrante upon her return to town, she returned to the book of fairy tales she had always loved as a child and talked to the post again. This frees Azrael, but of course, nothing can go easily for the Riverwood Coven. As much as they're trying to be open with information and help the witch community in town, there's a transition period before they can actually take control. This allows the Joywood Coven, and Carol in particular, to continue with their dangerous black magic attempts at harming and undermining the Riverwood.Georgie and Azrael have a connection, and their past lives have been tied together for centuries. This doesn't go smoothly, not with the power play still in town and some doozies of personal information bombs to shake up what Georgie had always thought was real. She's always been hard on herself and tried to deal with facts alone to combat the ditzy view others had of her. The knowledge she learns and the trust she develops in her own instincts are important and lead to the exciting conclusion to the novel. It's a great story, and one that I truly enjoyed reading.

Wonderful Story

Dragon Fires Everywhere by Hazel Beck, book four in the Witchlore series, was an amazing story that I could not put down while really making me think; wondering if this could really happen. This time we focus Riverwood coven’s Historian, Georgie Pendall, as she and her coven prepare for their ascension to governing coven on the winter solstice.Georgie is the quiet historian, nerdy, sensible, who dreams of a life that's full of magic and romance and sparks, but doesn't believe it really exists. After searching the world for special keys, she returns home only to encounter her boyfriend in a compromising position and finds herself wondering if a fairytale romance is in the books for her. Right then she was feeling like the odd woman out within her group as she was without a mate. Instead of joining their Thanksgiving feast she returns home, to the Wilde house. Sitting on the stairs, she finds her fairy tale book that she lent to her friend Emerson who is having a baby. Reading the book aloud to the dragon newel post at the bottom of the stairs, she is surprised as the newel post morphs into an actual, huge, fire-breathing dragon, a creature long thought by witches to have either never really existed or else been long extinct. His name is Azrael and he's been cursed and trapped inside that newel post for over a century, and he can morph into human form at will, and claims Georgie as his own. Azrael is a complicated soul, which Georgie likes a bit too much. A romance begins between Georgie and Azreal, all while the antics of the Joywood coven continue to threaten the safety and sanctity of all witchdom. As Georgie’s fairy tale book says, “Love is the answer.”This book was so much fun to read with an epic conclusion perfect for fall. Action packed with a lot of emotion and conflict, there is more fantasy woven into the pages compared to the previous books. A woman who learns to trust herself, a romance with a dragon, and people coming together to fight for love, hope, and unity, this book is a tangled web of lies and strength to hold onto their coven and finally beat the Joy wood once and for all. I'm not sure what's next now that all four women of the Riverwood Coven have had their turn but I'm curious to see with Beck writes next.I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.#DragonFiresEverywhere #HazelBeck #NetGalley #HarlequinTrade

Witches and Dragons!

Admittedly, I did not realize when I requested an early copy of this that it was part of a series. I thought the blurb sounded super interesting, so I requested a copy. After reading this, I do think it would have been better to read the series in order. Whereas I only read this one, book 4, as a standalone. Not reading them in order certainly caused me a lot of confusion early on, but as the story continued I feel like I caught up with the backstory, the community and all the drama and goings on.I enjoyed this. It was a fun, quick, fantasy romance read with dragons and a witch coven.
