I loved this newest release from Sara Raasch! Now I need to go out and watch critical role! Seriously, a really great exploration of trauma, healing, love and friendship!

I’ve been so excited for this book and it did not disappoint! I loved every second of this!This has everything I want in a magical rom-com. It had me laughing and crying. Lifelong friendships. Interesting magic. Cute animal familiars! Top tier banter. Great chemistry and spice.I was expecting some angst but this felt a bit heavier than some of her previous books. There’s a lot of grief and trauma here. I was in my feels a lot during this. It was so heartwarming to see them working through some of this. When I wasn’t on the verge of tears then I was probably laughing. Their banter was top tier and the humor was done so well. Their dynamic was so chaotic and I loved it. These two are so precious and deserved all the love and hugs!I can’t wait to read about Orok and see him get his HEA!
Not only is this romance an homage to Critical Role and my favorite Critical Role ship (Shadowgast forever!), it is impeccably written, paced brilliantly, and helmed by two complex and dynamic main characters I just want to crush to my chest. I laughed, I cried, and I fanned myself (this book gets super spicy, and I'm obsessed).This book tackles some seriously heavy issues in a magical academic setting (brace yourselves for pain) and as Thio and Sebastian sort out their grievances with each other and begin to heal and fall in love, you’ll be rooting for them the whole way through. Nick? Wonderful. Best familiar ever. Orak? Exceptional. Best friend ever. And that epilogue!? I couldn't stop smiling!So highly recommended, this is Sara Raasch's best book yet! I can't wait for the next one.
