While these slower sections allow for deeper character development, they can feel like they drag in places. That said, King’s descriptive writing and ability to create a sense of creeping dread kept me engaged throughout.The climax delivers on the tension built over the course of the novel, and the ending is both explosive and bittersweet. Firestarter is not just about supernatural powers, but about love, trust, and the lengths a parent will go to for their child. It is a compelling and emotionally resonant read that fans of King and newcomers alike will appreciate.

I enjoyed this book overall but found it too drawn out. Charlie is a good character, and I liked her relationship with her Dad. There are very clear good guys and bad guys, but I felt the meat of the plot took up only about half of the book.

I had never read this story even though I have been a Stephen King fan for as long as he has been publishing. i have seen the movie versions of this a number of times. As usual the book is much better than the movie.

Didn’t watch the original movie after I read it. Still haven’t watched the remake. The book hits the ground running and I was drawn in completely. It’s a classic I’m glad I made a point to read. Far better than the movie. One of the few books I couldn’t put down from the very beginning.
