They trained him to defend America. Now he might be the reason it falls.
After a classified mission, Delta Force operator Vann Jackson returns to the US embassy in Baghdad-infected with a bloodthirsty virus.
When he snaps in the chow hall, the violence is brutal-and the outbreak unstoppable. As the infection spreads, the world's most secretive embassy plunges into chaos. Soldiers, staff, and diplomats are cut off and surrounded- and turning on each other.
Trapped inside the compound, the desperate survivors prepare for a final stand as they beg for help. But the White House has its own plan: no rescue, and no witnesses.
For the surviving Delta operators, Marines, and civilians, the choice is simple-escape or die.

Easy read. Enjoyed the concept.
This is the 6th book by the author i have read, none disappoint. The characters are well written and seem to die horribly at regular intervals, what more could you ask for in an βend of daysβ novel.
I've never really been a fan of the Zombie genre, thinking its been done to death. Fortress is a totally new spin and works as a sequel to The Angola Deception. Delta Force operator Vann Jackson goes berserk in the mess hall at the US Embassy in Baghdad, turns out he's carrying a horrible virus which turns people into rage fuelled animals.Scheming politician Amy Coffman wants the virus to spread thus leaving the embassy staff and a few Delta soldiers to fend for themselves against the infected. As always with DC, the characters are well written, the action thick and fast and the story moves at a cracking pace. Good stuff, loved it!
Fast paced and action packed
What a totally fascinating storyline the corruption of political leaders and the worthlessness of civilians and soldiers alike and whilst this is a story albeit one close to the knuckles, those of us who are awake to the corruption of political leaders know that this goes on.Careful Mr Alden you might end up on some government hit list!!!!!
