I loved this one so much! The story of former friends coming back to each other was so lovely to read and I loved it so much! Chloe was such a fun main character and I loved seeing her grow!! This book is a love letter to fandom friends and when they were at the final concert I teared up!! What a delight of a YA novel!!
This was a great coming of age type story. I love a good road trip. I’m not even going to take off a star for the anti- Rhode Island jab from Diego in the beginning.
Get Real, Chloe Torres is a funny, heartfelt YA rom-com about friendship, first love, and a bucket-list road trip that sparks self-discovery, sapphic romance, and unforgettable summer chaos. I was so excited to read this one and I am grateful to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC. This book had so many things I love - sapphic romance, fat positivity, LGBTQ+ representation, ADHD representation, and Latine identity.
I listened to the audiobook and loved how Hispanic culture is represented in the book. Diego was pushy but funny. Ramona and Chloe were cute, and Sienna was a sweetheart. it was a nice book to listen to, and I connected to a lot of what Chloe went through.
