"A swoony, supernatural smash that's impossible to put down!" --Abigail Johnson, author of Even If I Fall

Danger, betrayal, and enticing forbidden love...

Trinity Marrow has lost the battle and her beloved Protector. Even with both demons and Wardens on her side, Trin may not win the war against the Harbinger.

Bringing Lucifer back to the world to fight the Harbinger is probably a really, really bad idea, but they're out of options--and the world's ultimate fallen angel is the only being powerful enough to impact the outcome.

As Trin and Zayne form a new and more dangerous bond and Lucifer unleashes Hell on earth, the apocalypse looms and the world teeters on the end of forever. Win or lose, one thing is certain--nothing will ever be the same.

The story continues in the rest of The Harbinger Series, now available with enhanced decorating:

  • Book 1: Storm and Fury
  • Book 2: Rage and Ruin
  • Book 3: Grace and Glory

*face palm* SPOILERS ALERT: Read at your own risk.

I started in this world with the first book in this trilogy, so there was a lot of background discussed throughout that I hadn’t read about directly. The history of the characters seemed increasingly convoluted, but I let that go. However, I started to see plot holes and they really bothered me. For example, I can accept that Zayne’s soul was transported to Heaven because he sacrificed himself in a way that earned him back his glory. BUT why didn’t it occur to ANYONE that maybe Zayne’s soul was trapped back at the school because of the angelic ward that was trapping all ghosts and spirits that got anywhere near it?Then there’s the issue of whether or not a true born can have children. *shudder* This one is like nails on a chalkboard for me. There are so many points of ick….1) Gideon. He’s researching multiple important issues. He’s so caught up in these important research projects that he doesn’t even think to ask why Dez wants to know about true born babies. Ok, sure. I could buy that. IF he immediately supplied a quick answer and moved on. But he stopped for HOURS to look into it and never asked any questions?!…2) Hey, Trinity! Remember the little clairvoyant boy with the angel eyes? Grandson of a Throne? You had an interesting chat with him. Keyword there is “grandson”, so one of his parents had to be a true born. Duh!…3) And this is the one that drives me bonkers. When Gideon first met Trinity and found out she could see ghosts and spirits, he got really excited because (paraphrasing) “that means you have an angel somewhere on your family tree.” Established lore in this world is that only people with angelic blood can see/communicate with ghosts/spirits. How do you get angelic blood when, according to Grim, no true born has ever given birth? I posed this question to my husband and he said, “Transfusion?”I’m 75% of the way through this book, which is something like 92% of the way through the trilogy, but I don’t think I can make myself keep reading it for another 200 pages. She’s wasting my time. I don’t need to rehash the same information over and over again to make sure everyone is up to speed. And she keeps delaying the action.Trinity agreed that her life was forfeit if they couldn’t stop Gabriel before the specific date when he intends to open the portal. Lucifer agreed to help stop Gabriel, but he can always just kill Trinity; problem solved. So, he decided to spend his time ushering in the End Times, which means the team is trying to stop Lucifer instead of Gabriel. Why did they enlist Lucifer’s “help” again? Can you go over that for me one more time, Roth? Layla? I’m unclear on your thought process. And Grim is acting like they summoned Lucifer when it was more like they begged him to come help. If he could walk out of Hell anytime he wanted, why are they responsible? I hate this plot so much! Lucifer doesn’t need to be in this story at all! He’s just a worthless plot device to ramp up tension and stretch out the page count. They are already fighting an archangel! They don’t need to fight two!I’m done.

The Harbinger Series -- Books 1, 2, & 3

I so enjoyed this series. Great characters, and lots of them and all have been developed extremely well. I enjoyed the relationships between everyone and I mean Gargoyles, Demons, Angels, many Archangel ETC and Lucifers entrance made this a very memorable series to read and will make me laugh many years to come with the reference to Hwy to Hell!!! Hard to compare the relationship between Trinity and Zayne and WOW what an Angel with all kinds of attributes he has! Thank you Jennifer Armentrout for creating this incredible series. I'd love to read their next adventures if you chose to create those. 😊

All smiles

From start to finish this book had a hold on me, I will say this was definitely the best book of the series. Trinity was faced with sooo many obstacles in this book. So many hard choices and so so so much growth overall. Zayne. Omg Zayne. Went from trophy boy to morally Grey and what do ya know, that just so happens to be my favorite color! I love how JLA wrapped everything up while still leaving a possible spot to add more later? Hehe. Peanut! Peanut peanut peanut. That was truly beautiful! I smiled through that entire scene. What a great book! Again ty so much JLA 💓

A very pleasant adventure

I'm a Spanish speaker but I read books in English because there're so many books that take too long to be translated and, besides, in the translation we lose a lot of things. So, I just have to say that I really enjoyed all three books. I laughed as I've never laughed with a book before. I just have to say there were too many abbreviations of words that I never found to know the meaning of, for example MIA , there was no google translate that could explain that to me, and believe me I don't have to use Google translate very often. Last thing I have to say, this is my first time reading this author's books and it was really worth it. Thank you Jennifer L. Armentrout 🤩
