With murder as topic, Florida small town gossip and money as setting, what could be fresh and new . . . Pick it up and turn the pages.
Loved it!! I was turned on to this through Jenna! So glad I read it. I couldnβt put it down.
I absolutely loved this bookβit kept me hooked from beginning to end. As someone who works full-time and has young kids, I rarely have uninterrupted reading time, but I couldnβt put this down and finished it in just a couple of days. It's a fun and easy read. The character development is outstandingβrich, relatable, and emotionally resonant. The story offers a compelling glimpse into life in an elite community in Winter Park with all its complexities and secrets. Though fictional, the plot felt incredibly real, and the charactersβ emotions were so well written that I found myself completely immersed. Iβm definitely awaiting the authorsβ next release!
This book is a great summer read
You know what I can compare this book to? Assembling a playhouse thatβs a lot of fun at first, but then you realize itβs missing some necessary pieces and when it all comes crashing down you really donβt care.I enjoyed the parts about the young, attractive hardworking woman who meets the older, successful, divorced and equally as good looking attorney. She may have come from the wrong side of the tracks and not have had the best education, but boy was she good at snappy conversation. So why didnβt she seem to have any friends? That kept gnawing at me and eventually detracted from the storyline. Also, how does the chef of a thriving restaurant in a high class town have the time and ability to prepare AND serve meals in his establishment plus conveniently pause to engage in a deep, prolonged conversation with a customer who stops in on a busy night? And wouldnβt someone whose spouse was mysteriously the victim of a brutal unsolved crime be at least a little concerned about home security? Too many holes leaves me as a reader falling through the gaps to say, ehβ¦Iβve read better.
