William Waters grew up in a house silenced by tragedy, where his parents could hardly bear to look at him, much less love him--so when he meets the spirited and ambitious Julia Padavano in his freshman year of college, it's as if the world has lit up around him. With Julia comes her family, as she and her three sisters are inseparable: Sylvie, the family's dreamer, is happiest with her nose in a book; Cecelia is a free-spirited artist; and Emeline patiently takes care of them all. With the Padavanos, William experiences a newfound contentment; every moment in their house is filled with loving chaos.
But then darkness from William's past surfaces, jeopardizing not only Julia's carefully orchestrated plans for their future, but the sisters' unshakeable devotion to one another. The result is a catastrophic family rift that changes their lives for generations. Will the loyalty that once rooted them be strong enough to draw them back together when it matters most?
An exquisite homage to Louisa May Alcott's timeless classic, Little Women, Hello Beautiful is a profoundly moving portrait of what is possible when we choose to love someone not in spite of who they are, but because of it.

This is a beautiful story of a mixed up, loving family. The happiness and losses balance each other out. I love how the sisters somehow keep the glue holding things together and the resilience of the sisters. Great story.
I loved this book. I read it in stages as it takes you through the lives of two families. It was a very poignant story and once you really get into the story line, you don't want to put it down. Even though it was based in a different state than where I lived, the author took you into the family lives so well and I felt memories of my lifetime in some similar families. It really helps you see how people grow up in different types of home environments and how it affects you as an adult, good and bad and a person's self esteem and worth are bound up in this. It is well worth your time to read this and it has a sad yet satisfying ending.
Absolutely you should read this. A great story dealing with love, heartbreak, family drama. Well written and captivating.
In many ways, this book enlightened me. If you grew up with several siblings, if you are the oldest daughter, the middle daughter, or the baby girl of the family, you may find yourself. If you ever kept secrets, or had the truth withheld from you, you're going to examine those choices again. I couldn't put it down.
Loved this read- the character development carrying the narrative so well woven together. You really care about these characters and the choices they make , for better or worse. Sensitively told, with depth and wisdom.
