language & slurs are hard to take for some of us. Came out with the impression that trailer trash and rednecks give Texas a bad name.
This addition of the series find Hap and Leonard getting black mailed into taking on a five year old missing person case. The case turns into so much more. The story is filled with action and humor and quirky characters. The one thing I don't like so much is the banter between the characters, I could do with less of it because I don't think it was as funny as it was supposed to be and the sarcasm intended also missed the mark at times but overall a very entertaining read.
Good characters, funny dialogue and a interesting plot. Humor and extreme violence can go well together. I'll read more of this series.
Guess I have to read books 1 through 9. A real page turner if you like quirky characters. Hap and Leonard get hired to find a long lost daughter and things go rapidly down hill from there.
I really like the dialogue and the cadence Lansdale has built between his characters. I actually laugh and groan aloud while reading them. The action scenes are well done and understandable while still having the urgency and confusion necessary to make them exciting.I've read 3 or 4 of the Hap\Leonard series and look forward to more.
