Karma's ready to work

Socialite Bella Carmichael's perfect life was shattered when she was jilted at the altar. But a fated encounter with three perfect strangers at an airport is the beginning of an exhilarating and empowering sisterhood; The Karma Club. Bella doesn't need a man, she just needs to get even! But instead of her ex-fiancé, Bella's target is the man who betrayed her new best friend, Chase Miller; artist, charmer, cheater!

Bella's strategy is simple; get a job at Chase's soon-to-be-opening New York art gallery. Make herself indispensable, while subtly chipping away at his reputation and sanity. (She's so good at her job, he won't suspect a thing!). And at all costs, ignore the sizzling and very mutual electricity with her off-limits boss!

Going head-to-head with the arrogant artist unleashes a side of Bella she'd long since forgotten. The fiery, imperfect, naughty Bella revels in every challenge he delights in setting her. But when her sabotage goes too far, Bella discovers that there's more to Chase than The Karma Club thought. Now she must turn her plan from vengeance into redemption and undo all her devious acts, before she falls for him... or is it too late?

A Fun Read

What a great enemies to lovers romance. I love the friendship of the women in the Karma Club. I really liked Bella. She was pretty ruthless with some of the things she came up with for revenge against Chase. Chase was kind of a bruty jerk for most of the book. It took me a little bit to warm up to him. Bella and Chase had great chemistry. I loved how they helped and encouraged each other. This was a fun read and a great addition to the series.

Books are my thing
Karma does not find her

Brilliant writing, characters with depth and humanity. Their flaws are believable and how they come to the end of the story is very entertaining. The little attempts to sabotage are wicked and the banter between the two is just a hair from rivalry to lust. The steam was perfect and adequate for the story. Easily skippable if not your thing.

Wonderful Second Story in a Romantic Series

How to Get Even is the second book in a new multi-author series, The Karma Club. The series is a spicy revenge romance and is perfect for fans of Olivia Goldsmith’s The First Wives Club and Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game. How to Get Even should be read after The Payback Plan for the stories to make sense.26-year-old Bella Carmichael is stranded at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport due to a snowstorm and hangs out at Just Desserts, a sweets shop. She shares a table with three other stranded female travelers, and the ladies bond over prosecco and desserts. They share their tales of heartbreak and woe, and devise a scheme whereby each lady will seek revenge on another lady’s ex. The plan is to cause chaos in each heartbreaker’s life, not irreparable harm.Six months ago, Bella was left at the altar by her groom, Olly Prendergast, who jilted her via text. Paige Parker is returning to England to spend Christmas with her mother. Bella arranges for her to stay with her ex-fiance, Olly, for a few weeks at his father’s place in Cornwall. Paige and Olly’s story is The Payback Plan, which must be read first. It's decided that Bella will take revenge on Chase Miller, the married man who broke Astrid’s heart. Chase is a famous painter who is currently starting up an art gallery in New York City. Bella has been exiled in Paris for the past six months since her wealthy parents were embarrassed by her wedding fiasco. She was supposed to start work at their charitable foundation but delayed it to secure a job at the art gallery. Bella quickly becomes invaluable to the team and becomes invested in making the opening of the art gallery a success. She also realizes that Chase is not the villain that Astrid believed, and she must decide if she wants to continue the revenge plot. Additionally, Bella suspects that Paige is falling for Olly and has to deal with those emotions. How to Get Even is an emotional enemies-to-lovers rom-com with engaging characters. While readers can predict the overall storyline, they will be engrossed by how Bella’s character changes course over the story. Refined Bella reveals her hidden cunning side and inflicts comical revenge on Chase, then changes gears and tries to redeem him. There’s suspense as readers wonder if the gallery will be able to open and will Bella’s revenge scheme get discovered. The characters are very well developed, so that the reader really roots for their happiness. The side characters at the art gallery are a very diverse group, so most readers should be able to identify with one of them. The author’s descriptions are so clear that it’s like watching a movie. How to Get Even does contain some profanity sprinkled throughout the story and an open-door sex scene. It’s similar in spice level to Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game. I’m now anxious to read Astrid’s story, which is The Puck Stops Here by Rachael Stewart. I really hope that this Karma Club series can be made into a movie or TV series.I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Boldwood Books for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
