A good story. A bit predictable. Also a bit dated. I'd recommend it to a more mature audience. It didn't hold my attention as much as I like. The characters were a bit hard to believe. (George Smith's wife).
I'd never read Judith Krantz before, but now I'm definitely going to. Unlike current romance that tends towards more focused plots that really focus on the main couple (which i also love), this has a giant cast of fully realized POV characters, all having sharp, funny conversations. A little dated in places, but overall surprisingly timeless. It's a meandering, densely descriptive, crazy fun book that's easy to pick up and savor for a half hour here and there while you're on vacation -- or if you wish you were on vacation. Plus it's always fun to dive into 80s New York.
Love this book, loved the movie.
Gripping. I read this one many years ago. Rereading now. Wonderful story line.
I read this book to death when I had it in paperback. Truly deserving of multiple reads. A great story, intriguing characters. It stands the test of time.
