"Horror fans will have a tough time putting this down once they start reading. A killer read."

Follow him or die...
Influencer, by Bram Stoker Award-winning author Adam Cesare, is a tense and timely psychological thriller told from alternating points of view about a teenage girl who begins to suspect the charismatic new kid may in fact be a murderous psychopath. As more and more of her friends fall under his influence, her suspicions begin to come across like jealousy. But is she right? And if so, how much more dangerous would he be toward someone who has discovered his secret?
A new and expanded paperback adaptation of the Audible Original, Influencer explores the dark side of social media and the cult of personalities that flourish there as the teens navigate their own fears about friendship and popularity, culminating in an epic battle of wills that will leave readers breathless.
"What's so scary about Influencer is how possible it is--how likely it feels, and just how convincingly real these characters are. I read a lot of scary stuff, but this is the only book for years to worm its way into my dreams and make me finish the book faster, just so I can maybe sleep again."
--Stephen Graham Jones, New York Times bestselling author of The Only Good Indians
"Sizzling writing and a skin-crawling story make Influencer one of the most addictive horror novels I've read. It's deeply uncomfortable, deeply perceptive, and deliciously fun."
--Darcy Coates, USA Today bestselling author of The Whispering Dead
"Influencer is a real nail-biter of a thriller! Relatable characters, devious plot twists, and a breakneck pace. Highly recommended!"
--Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of Rot & Ruin and Long Past Midnight

Some of this didn't go the way I thought it would, but that's a good thing, I think. If I were Crystal, I probably would have been a little louder to get an adult's attention. Other than that, I thought she was a relatable high school student. The ending satisfied me way more than I thought. I even gave an audible "Eeheeheeheehee." 😁
I loved Influencer. Crystal and her small group of “friends” (“friends” in inverted commas because I’m pretty sure these teens are NOT friends – not in the traditional sense anyway!) ride to school together every day. Some of the small group are captivated by an online influencer called ‘The Speaker’. Crystal, however, doesn’t share their passion. When new boy Aaron starts in their year, he immediately manages to charm everyone. Except Crystal. Crystal sees something in Aaron that others just don’t see. Crystal believes he’s secretly ‘The Speaker’. Her suspicions immediately start a deadly game of cat and mouse, all while The Speaker does what The Speaker does. With her friends falling under Aaron’s spell, it’s down to Crystal to reveal the truth…Oh my gosh! Wonderfully intense, highly readable and impossible to put down for any length of time. The book starts with a bang and doesn’t really let up from that point forward. Aaron is despicable with his manipulative, controlling ways. His extreme superiority complex is uncomfortable, but I couldn’t get enough of it. He’s dastardly and malicious and I loved it! Crystal is as equally compelling but in a very different way. I loved how determined she was, how, when others were blinded by The Speaker’s light, Crystal just wasn’t. She didn’t fall for the smarm or the charm and I was wholly on her side because of that. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of this dark, thrilling tale – particularly the final denouement which played out like a movie in front of me. Graphic, gory and full of wonderfully written tension. One for slightly older teens perhaps. I think I would wait a couple of years before giving this book to my fourteen-year-old (but I already know she will love it!). Bloody marvellous. Highly recommended.
this book is SO good, the opening of this alone is something i will never forget my jaw was genuinely on the floor. it hooks you immediately and instantly invests you in not only the characters but the storyline and where it could lead. all the characters are extremely well written and the storyline is very intriguing, thrilling and stays that way the entire time making you want to stay up all night just to finish it literally will have you in a chokehold. this book is a MUST buy and read. and while you’re at it, get clown in a cornfield written by adam cesar as well he really knows how to write great books.
There’s a new guy in school. He isn’t who he pretends to be. Crystal immediately knew who he was “the speaker”. The speaker has plans for Crystal’s friends and the school. First he has to test his followers' loyalty to him before he proceeds. Can Crystal stop him before it’s too late? This book had a great steady pace with some intense moments. I loved Adam's work from reading two out of three Clown in a Cornfield series. This book will take you into a high school environment where you see a group of friends dynamic changes when a new person enters it. I highly recommend this book. Will warn there is animal cruelty and death in the book though.
I stumbled upon this audio and oh my gosh. This is one of the best thrillers ive ever picked up. From the moment the book started I couldn't put it down. Adam did an amazing job with this. A must read
