I will say this third book was much better than the other two however I feel the whole series was extremely drawn out. The sister died early in book one, book 2 was her trying to figure out what happened very redundantly recapping everything that she’s already talked aboutover… and over…, book 3 finally pieced it together. I truly feel like this could’ve been completed in just one book. It became very redundant throughout the series.

This was the beautiful ending I was hoping for from this trilogy. I cannot believe it is over, but the journey with Emilia and Wrath is one I won’t forget. I love their story and cannot wait for my next Maniscalco read!

the first two books were very well written. Lots of developed characters with twists and turns on every page. I thought the last book would deliver answers to the many questions. However, a LOT still remains a mystery - it seemed almost rushed.

Enjoyable end to their tale and the series. Makes you want to read about the rest of the princes for their own stories.I liked that it didn’t end predictably and that the evil characters aren’t so evil after all. Lol! I’m curious to read about Pride & Greed’s story now.3.5⭐️3🌶️

I liked the story. It got me wanting to know what happened next so it was good to me.

Throughout the series the confusion went down and the spice went up. But I still didn’t feel like everything was resolved. There were too many pieces of the puzzle for my taste - and sooo many threads stayed open throughout the whole series. It was just ALOT. I did enjoy the main characters and their personalities. The world that was created was interesting. Just the plot was a little too all over the place for me.

Bk 3 was good. It fitted the growth of the MCF and MC. The ending was sweet. It left plenty of room for spinoffs (I still want Pride's story and all the others LOL.) Some of the twists and turns were too abrupt or too sudden or they were dangled and forgotten about. I still enjoyed it.They turned the heat up in this one!!

This was a really good story, I loved the characters. I could have done without the redundant "what ifs" of solving the mystery of the plot and just more tied ends. There is still the huge plot of what the witches were up to. They also just left the story of Pride and his wife just fizzle out. Hopefully, they'll be more books later on answering all the open plot lines.

I really enjoyed the first book of the series, didn't love the 2nd book, and waited 2 years to write this review of the 3rd, considering my notes were a series of curse words. I may have given this 4 stars, but honestly I kinda wished I hadn't.It annoyed me, I still remember feeling so frustrated with the characters and was like FINALLY, Emilia get your head out of your ass and start being smart. Then getting the twist like we did, and I'm like throw my hands up and say I give up.But I did love the settings, and Hell is interesting, but I kinda felt the same about Emilia as I did about Jude and Carden (The Cruel Prince series)... ugh.Only quote I cared for:I used to love wearing flowers in my hair, now I loved watching them turn into pretty weapons and destroying my enemies.

I enjoyed the first book of this series SO much. The second one, a little less-so (the setting and characters didn't grab me like the first book). But I was still excited to see where the third book would go in terms of the relationship between Emilia and Wrath as well as the resolution to "the curse" which was still confusing to me. I guess that's part of the problem...at the end of the second book, one would have thought we'd have established a premise. But the author is still trying to throw in new elements and explain away certain parts of "the curse"...there's not one, it turns out, there's two curses! And who was the antagonist, again? The vampires? Nope, we don't hear from them again... Is it the werewolves? Wait, no, it turns out they're supposed to be sympathetic...The seven witches? The First Witch (whom, in the last 100-ish pages, is given a name "Sursea" for no reason)? Except that they kind of just fall away despite being so powerful. Another irk is the worldbuilding/magic system. In this world, there's a chaotic mix of Greek mythology, Catholic/Dante lore, paganism, and time/space warps that was added in with this installment. And we don't ever see much magic; the ONE battle scene toward the end is resolved in like 2.5 seconds. And, there's no real tension toward the climax because everything is just explained away yet there's still a ton of loose ends. There's actually a part where they just start trying to resolve some plot holes through exposition when Wrath/Emilia take their vows! It didn't even matter by then honestly because I was SO bored, I skimmed the last 10 chapters. The book was a sandwich of smut scenes and plot, such as it was, until the last few chapters which were mostly smut again with extremely detailed wardrobe tangents sewn throughout the narrative. An inordinate amount of time is spent dissecting the cut, fabrics and gems in Emilia's skimpy gowns. I found myself wondering, what was the point of setting this book in the mid-nineteenth century? Because no one's wardrobe or parlance is appropriately dated, and it doesn't otherwise add to the plot. Maybe that's why the author added the seemingly bizarre addition of a time and space warp of the original setting? Finally, the relationship between Wrath and Emilia I is disappointing: Wrath is reduced to a brooding stereotype and Emilia is described as angry and beautiful all the time. Oh, and she's powerful as we're constantly being told, not shown. I could go on and on...If you liked the first two books and MUST know what happens I would just say jump to the last 100 pages of this book. That's when a lot of the plot and "curse" is explained away so it'll at least give closure.

“Subtlety isn’t your strong suit.”“Subtlety is for cowards, my lady.”The way it hurts because this is not a 5 star for me is just unbelievable lol but only because I absolutely adored this series so much and this one is my highly anticipated read for the whole of 2022. While I enjoyed it on a high level since you get answers to the questions we wanted, I am unfortunately underwhelmed by the installment. It was quite inconsistent on so many aspects in comparison to her other two books, I absolutely enjoyed KOTW and LOVED KOTC although it veered off in an unexpected path. I loved how it surprised me and challenged me as a reader trying to solve the mysteryWhat I liked:-YA to NA transition-Answered the nagging questions-Envy's character and dialogues-The most awaited romance that finally happens-The foreshadowing for possible future books-Bittersweet moments with Wrath-The air of intrigue and the concept of shadow realm-The wicked, cursed and feared world as a wholeWhat I struggled with:Kingdom of the Feared starts off where we left off in KOTC and in fact starts off strong but it quickly became confusing because of the way the author chose to play out the plot, the pacing was off and the story is all over the place. I was taken aback by how the characterizations have drastically changed from how they were initially presented, yes some of them had a reason and yet I felt the transition wasn't as smooth. Emilia's and a certain come back character's characters were inconsistent most of the times, instead of coming off as strong because of constant weathering of storms, Emilia comes off as unsure and confused, I enjoy a good character arc from being a naive heroine to a powerful protagonist but her character did not do it for me.I was also upset about how Wrath's character had to take a back seat and how we got a watered down version of fierce, witty demon from hell. I understand this is Emilia's moment to shine but his character is quite underutilized. There were spicy scenes and to Kerri's credit she did well with them but after the first one, I thought their placement was odd hence losing the emotional value. I missed the angst and the connection Emilia and Wrath had in the first two booksThere were too many sub-plots going on which I was invested in BUT they should've been established in KOTC rather than dropping them out of blue in this book but again that is my personal opinion. My other major issue is lack of strong antagonist and presenting crucial plot twists in a "matter of fact" tone, which in turn took away the conflict points and the anticipation that comes with the conflict. There were so many loose ends or the solutions at times felt too convenient, I felt like the ending is unsatisfying and frustrating because I had way too many questions even after I finished the book.I loved Envy and Pride and wished to be more invested in their characters, with all the foreshadowing I am hoping we get more books with them so I can appease a little bit of my unsatisfied feelings.

Gahhh what a perfect ending to Emilia and Wrath’s story!! Emilia’s growth throughout this trilogy is incredible especially in this last book. I truly enjoyed every twist and turn Kerri Maniscalco threw at us while Emilia found her true self. There were definitely a few audible gasps during unsuspecting plot twists that had my plane seat-mates glancing over in concern 😂.Emilia has become one of my favorite female characters. She’s sassy, incredibly loving and loyal, smart and has huge balls of steel. Her courage is so admirable.Wrath. Oh, Wrathy. I swoon. Yes, he’s the smoking hot bad ass King of Hell with the sin of wrath, but he’s a marshmallow. His little thoughtful gifts for Emilia were so damn cute and my heart swelled with how supportive he was with *almost* every decision Emilia made. 3.5⭐️⭐️⭐️✨Overall, I like this series, but the final book didn't quite live up to my expectations given how much I adore Kerri M♥️Wrath felt so flat, and aside from the fact that he's hot and cursed, there wasn't much else to him🤷🏼‍♀️I needed more character development🥹His actions scream louder than words, but since this is a book, I do need words to understand him, so yeah...😆Emilia, on the other hand, spoke a lot and was constantly speculating about her sister and a murder that, to be honest, I stopped caring about till it was solved😅The good guys were the evil guys, and the villain wasn't a real villain🤯This storyline twist was interesting, but I didn't "feel" it was a stunner, and I think the build-up was to blame🥺There was an open ending for the subplots, and I'm excited for spin-offs because I loved the other princes🥰A story with Pride, Lucia and Vittoria, as well as Envy, would be wonderful😍In terms of the smut, I enjoyed it BUT...😶

I enjoyed the first two books, but the plot for this one felt a bit convoluted. I spent most of the book repeatedly going "what??"***SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT***This book goes pretty hard on the sex scenes. Not really my thing, and I tend to skim over them, but there are A LOT in this book compared to the others, so if that's not your thing, just a heads-up.The plot is interesting, but there's a lot happening and it feels like too many plot points crammed into too little book, almost as if the author wanted to quickly pull everything together at the end. The rhythm is basically plot twist/sex scene ad infinitum, which nothing against plot twists, but if the whole story is plot twists, it's hard to be invested in anything/anyone.It also gets a bit confusing with the king/devil because the terms are used somewhat interchangeably, and I had to keep going back and rereading pages to make sure whether the author was talking about Pride or Wrath. It's a minor gripe, but ties into the overall convoluted feel. Being three books into a trilogy and still getting confused over character titles seems to suggest that maybe they aren't being made clear enough.In my opinion, the plot line with her mother and grandmother feels very open-ended. I wasn't satisfied with how those storylines wrapped up, and I don't know if it was an intentional choice (possibly leaving the door open for more stories in this franchise). However, the story makes a big fuss about both characters, and then essentially just abandons them.However, the worst part about this book for me was what happened to Emilia at the end. She gives up her House to become part of Wrath's House. She gives up her power, but we're told this is okay because Wrath shares some of his with her.The story has emphasized the power of personal choice repeatedly, but here it seems to veer into what feels like a weird defense of being a traditional wife that gives up everything for your husband. There's even a line that references how "just because it's not *your* choice, doesn't mean it's not my choice!!" and it just feels bizarrely preachy.Granted, it is possible I'm reading too much into this, but I cannot stress how very, very weird the ending seems in comparison with the rest of the series. It was almost certainly enough to sour me on the idea of reading anything else by this author, which is a shame because the first two books were pretty good.Still, I'm giving it two stars because some of the plot points did surprise me, and it was nice to at least wrap up some plot threads for the trilogy.

This book deserves much more than 10 stars WOW 😲😲😲 What i liked in this book? EVERYTHING: the relationship btw our main couple, the steamy scenes (so well written 😳🤤)After reading the book i completely fall in love with Wrath's character. What a character. I loved everything he did since the beginning to the end of the book... and what a end!!! The scenes with the wings (yes both scenes) just loved it 😍 they are perfect 👌 i'm ruined because of this book. Other stuff i loved:The scenes btw Emilia and one of the brothers, specially the one who turned out to be a closest friend in the end. After Wrath, he turned out to be my second favorite. The final scenes btw Victoria and Emilia. I loved the way it ended for them. I read this book in two days. I would love to read more books about this universe. What about Lucia and Pride? The book ended with a lot of potencial for other stories. I would certainly read more about this brothers, with Emilia and Wrath in the mix helping as well, bc they are just perfect 👌 Emilia flashbacks scenes about her and Wrath and the memory scenes in the well: Awesome! The scenes between all the brothers. They are all so interesting and their scenes are so well written. I loved Emili'a story and her powers and what she and Wrath did to each other for love, Wrath's actions everytime Emilia was in danger, what he was able to do to get to her 😍 the same applies for Emilia about Wrath everytime he was hurt or in danger. Just perfect. I'm so glad to have found this books. Thank you Kerri. Don't stop writing 😊

The world building doesn’t stop, but it doesn’t feel like info dump.I like how Emilia grows in this book as more is revealed to her. I liked what happens to her (though there was a point where a certain trope that happens at the end of a lot of fantasy books to strong female protagonists came in and almost ruined the ending for me).Some side characters were incredibly fleshed out, and I want a spin off from some of the Princes of Hell, or from Vittoria, who blew me away in this book. Seriously, she became one of my favorite characters of the series.THE SPICE! Oh my god, after waiting for so long, it was worth it.I didn’t like how many plot lines and plot twists there were. I was getting whiplash and getting very overwhelmed. It made the pacing of the book feel a little weird.Wrath also felt more background in this book, with less talking as he did in other books. It’s like once the sexual tension finally subsided, his only purpose was for sex.Overall, I think this was mostly a great conclusion. I wish we had gotten more of Wrath, but I enjoyed what we did get.
