The much-beloved BookTok sensation, Travis Baldree's novel of high fantasy and low stakes.

After a lifetime of bounties and bloodshed, Viv is hanging up her sword for the last time.

The battle-weary orc aims to start fresh, opening the first ever coffee shop in the city of Thune. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success -- not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is.

If Viv wants to put the blade behind her and make her plans a reality, she won't be able to go it alone.

But the true rewards of the uncharted path are the travelers you meet along the way. And whether drawn together by ancient magic, flaky pastry, or a freshly brewed cup, they may become partners, family, and something deeper than she ever could have dreamed.

"Take a break from epic battles and saving the world. Legends & Lattes is a low-stakes fantasy that delivers exactly what's advertised: a wholesome, cozy novel that feels like a warm hug. This is my new comfort read."--Genevieve Gornichec, author of The Witch's Heart

A Cozy, Heartwarming Surprise

Legends & Lattes is unlike most fantasy novels I’ve read. Instead of epic battles or sprawling quests, it’s a cozy progression fantasy about Viv, a retired female orc adventurer who decides she’s had enough of bloodshed and monster-slaying. With her savings, she buys an old livery stable and sets out to turn it into the city’s very first coffee shop. The premise sounds almost mundane, but that’s where the charm lies. Watching Viv and her unlikely companions work together to bring this dream to life is surprisingly entertaining. The story isn’t about monsters (though a few appear) or heroes (though unexpected ones emerge), but about friendship, loyalty, and dreams taking root in the unlikeliest of places. The dialogue sparkles with humor and warmth, and the conflicts—both internal and external—feel natural, never forced. I especially appreciated how the author crafted a villain who was genuinely despicable; I felt real satisfaction in seeing justice come around. If I had one complaint, it would be the romance subplot. I won’t spoil anything, but to me it felt unnecessary and a little out of place. Why can’t two characters share deep, meaningful platonic love without it being turned into romance? That said, this is a small quibble in an otherwise delightful book.Another point in its favor is its brevity. The book is short, self-contained, and doesn’t rely on a cliffhanger to keep readers hooked. It wraps up with a satisfying resolution. There are sequels available, and while I haven’t yet decided if I’ll continue, I probably will.Overall, Legends & Lattes is a refreshing, cozy gem in the fantasy genre—proof that a story doesn’t need to be about world-shaking events to be engaging. Highly recommended.

great read!!

Wow, this was a great read — entertaining, creative, and weirdly real considering the main characters are an orc and a succabus. If you need a distraction, and like fantasy adventure, without a lot of death and gore, this one’s for you. It certainly was for me!! And the author does a great job with the audible version.

Arrived in perfect condition. Really cute deluxe edition of this book. I like the smaller size of the hardback as well.

Good read

The book was cute. It was a nice palette cleanse from my spicy reads. It's well written and also a short read.
