Lights Out: An Into Darkness Novel

I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this book, and was afraid it might be a little too dark for me. Not to fear! While there was some "consensual" stalking and a LOT of descriptive NSFW scenes, this was a fairly light-hearted thriller with tons of lines that had me laughing out loud. Would definitely recommend if you're not offending by a lot of descriptive sex scenes.

The FMC and MMC are a solid duo. I like that they are two lonely type people that find each other.The good:Good tempo, flows well.Love the FMC is strong and can hold her own.Chemistry between the FMC and MMC is fabulous.The not so good:There was not a strong plot. I expected a bit more.Got bored about 75% of the way in as it became more about the spice than the story.The mommy/daddy cat thing was taken a bit too far.It was a fun read.Spice 5/5🌶️ - pay attention to all the triggers if you have any!Overall 4/5⭐️

While there’s plenty to love in Lights Out, Josh easily stole the show for me. We all adore a strong MMC, but his perfectly timed sarcasm had me laughing out loud more than once. There’s something irresistible about a man who can crack a joke and melt your heart—especially when his soft spot for Fred (the cat) kicks in. As a cat mom of three, I was smitten instantly.The pacing was spot-on, the chemistry between the leads was electric, and even the side characters felt fully realized and memorable. This book had been popping up on my TikTok feed constantly—and I’m so glad I finally gave in. Navessa Allen is definitely an author I’ll be keeping an eye on, and I’m already looking forward to what she writes next.
