The viral TikTok stalker dark romance, burning with high heat, hilarious banter, and a love story like you’ve never seen before. Can you handle the ride?
I want someone with a soul as black as night. Someone who would burn the world down for me and not lose a single minute of sleep over it.
Trauma nurse Alyssa Cappellucci doesn't need any more kinks. She likes the one she's landed on just fine. To her, nothing could top the masked men she follows online. Unless one of those men was shirtless, heavily tattooed, and waiting for her in her bedroom. She dreams about being hunted by one in particular, of him chasing her down and doing deliciously dark things to her willing body. She never could have guessed that by sending one drunken text, those dreams would become her new reality.
I want things most people don't, craving darkness and depravity instead of light and love.
Joshua Hammond has an infamous father--the kind of man that true-crime podcasts love talking about. He's spent his life avoiding the limelight, but his online persona is another story. At night, he posts masked thirst traps for his millions of fans to drool over, but one follower has caught his eye: Aly. After reading a comment begging him to break into her house wearing a mask, he decides to take her up on her offer.
Together, Aly and Josh live out their darkest fantasies unaware that Aly has captured the attention of someone else. Someone with far more sinister intentions than a little light stalking. As Josh turns from predator to protector and the stakes heighten, he must ask himself how far he's willing to go for the woman he's obsessed with.
Lights Out is a fast-paced dark romance with a morally gray male lead. Some themes and scenes may be disturbing to readers. Please check the TWs at the beginning of the book.

This book was absolutely brilliant! The darkness contrasted the lightness. The characters are well developed. I love Aly and Josh. The s*x is phenomenal and well written! A must read!
I thought it was a good book. I read it mainly because of a snippet I saw online. I did get my rom-com, I just didn’t feel that it was 100% 5 star enjoyable like I thought it would be.
This book had so much spice, and action, and adoration, and love, and plot and I couldn’t stop reading. At points I nearly stopped breathing. Absolutely incredible.
What the heck did I just read?! Wow! I have no words! While I took me a minute to get my head around the stalker aspect of this book, one thing I really loved about this book was the humor throughout it! Aly and Josh have a banter between them that is so funny, smart, and very hot at times! I laughed more than I thought I would when I first started reading it. I’m thankful the author gave us an even more deplorable villain in this story - not that Josh was a villain, but his story was iffy at the beginning. Very quickly his true colors showed through and we see the real man he can be. Aly and Josh are perfect each other and I found that I was pleasantly impressed with this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved the story, easy to read, super funny, it had tense moments that kept me glued to the book, and the protagonists are perfect for each other.

Not even kidding. I pulled an all-nighter. I’m in my 30s. The hangover for not sleeping is worse than anything I did in my 20s. That is how good this was. I also have several new things to discuss in therapy. 10/10 would recommend and will be rereading. I’m getting the audiobook. It is dark though so please mind the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book. And spoiler…........You sure you want the spoiler?..........Last chance…......Yes it has a happy ending (in more ways than one) and no main character death.#HEA #StrongFMC #TouchHerAndDie I give this 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Spice. Dark. Action. Romance. This was such a good book! Josh and Aly are so lovable, despite Josh having a bit of a stalker problem. I love the way this was written though where Aly could tell that if she wanted him to stop he would. The epilogue is such a bonus scene too🤭
Lights Out took me completely by surprise. I went in expecting a typical dark romance, but Navessa Allen delivered something much more layered — a mix of suspense, steamy tension, and sharp humor that kept me glued from the first page.Aly, the trauma nurse heroine, is strong, sarcastic, and relatable in her exhaustion and emotional walls. Josh, the mysterious masked content creator, is equal parts dangerous and charming. Their chemistry is intense, but what makes it stand out is how smart and funny their banter is. Even in the darker moments, the dialogue feels alive and real. The story balances fantasy and realism in a way that’s edgy but still human. The pacing in the first half is incredible — full of tension and build-up. The second half gets a little wild and over the top, but honestly, I didn’t mind. It felt like a chaotic, passionate crash that fit the characters. This isn’t your typical romance — it’s morally gray, emotionally charged, and unapologetically spicy. If you’re not into darker themes or kink, it may not be for you. But if you love masked-man intrigue, obsession, and witty chemistry that feels electric, Lights Out will absolutely deliver.Highly recommend for fans of dark romance with heart, humor, and heat.
Omg, the steamy scenes, the story, background of characters, the Wit!!! The kind of snarky one liners I kept laughing out loud over. Josh is every BookToks dream, and Aly is such a headstrong, complex, but loving person you can’t help but see this being a real person behind it all. The entirety of this book kept my interest and Navessa has a way with writing for sure! Read this NOW! You won’t be disappointed ❤️
"Lights Out" is the perfect intro for anyone wanting to venture into the dark romance genre. This book has the perfect blend of unhinged romance, humor, and mystery to hook a reader and have them coming back for more. This book follows a cat loving trauma nurse named Aly, and Josh, a part time hacker/ masked social media influence/ and stalker all rolled into one. The banter between these two characters alone will have you both swooning and laughing. I highly suggest the audio book as well! The dual narration is done perfectly and really brings out more of the humor in this book. Navessa Allen really knows how to captivate her audience and keep them entertained and reading. As always, please check the trigger warnings before reading.
I adored this book. It was so good. It had me laughing out loud so many times and also holding on for dear life because...wow! Josh is the MMC and while he has some mask/stalker fantasies, he is the BIGGEST cinnamon roll ever! The way he just wants to take care of Aly is so adorable. His inner monologue is all about how this is a kink and he would never hurt Aly or put her in danger. I am all for not yucking someone else's yum. Plus, Aly also has the same interests so it's a perfect match. Josh is a masked social media icon basically. Women across the world login to see his 3x a week videos that consist of him, no shirt, fake blood, a knife, and...well dirty things. Aly is an ER nurse (so am I so I could really relate with her experiences) and she follows him on social media but doesn't know who he actually is. She senda a previous hookup a message about trying out the mask which finds it's way to Josh and the rest is history. The story is exciting, engaging, full of Banter, a bit ridiculous, definitely hot, and absolutely laugh out loud funny.
There is a great deal of spice in kink in this book. There’s nothing morally grey about this novel. It skipped the “grey” altogether and went straight to black. Both the main characters Aly/Josh had witty and wicked sense of humors! Who wouldn’t love a man who would literally kill for you and/or help you get rid of the body? Oh and threaten your mafia family! 😆 I hope to see more of these characters in the other books in the series. I absolutely Loved every bit of this one!
This was my second dark romance book, and let me tell you it was not what I was expecting. First of all, I mostly read for the humor of this nook, as the sexual nature of this book was not something I enjoy most times, yet with that being said, I still enjoyed the spicy bits, just not as much as I would in any other book. Josh is so funny, and I really enjoyed the plot line of the book; it had me on the edge of my seat. My rating is based on me personally not enjoying the spicy scenes, just not my type of spice, but that has nothing to do with how it was written and just personal preference.
This was absolute jokes ! A literal dark yet comedic story. I enjoy the plot, the romance, the characters, the lessons learned. It was a genuine fun time.
Spicy: amazingWriting: amazingStory: in the beginning was great, I was wrapped with the story line, the characters. But the middle/end it just wasn’t doing it for me anymore it went a path where it had me questioning. Trying not to spoil anything, it was more of a way to have a perfect solution to a randomly terrible problem out of no where?? Just didn’t fit in my eyes and that’s okay!Characters loved them, funny, sarcastic, real.I personally would consider this more kinky/taboo than Dark.I think over the last year or so everything that has some type of trauma or kinky fantasy is being categorized as Dark.At the end of this book I was like eh that was a good story, I wasn’t overly excited to start the second or over analyzing what I just read. This is the PERFECTTTTT perfect stepping stone for those who want to go more taboo or darker into the romance world. Gives a hint of different areas of trauma to test your boundaries of what you can handle reading. The author did a fantastic job overall, but I do believe TikTok over hyped this book into a category it doesn’t fit in.
-Hilarious characters (especially Josh)-First person POV’s-Dark/kinky spice-Murder-Traumatized characters-Cat(There are trigger warnings at the beginning of this book, but honestly it felt like watching an episode of Criminal Minds)I was a bit nervous to read this at first, but I ended up enjoying it. 😂 I kept seeing the reviews saying it was hilarious and, boy, they were right! The wit these characters had was top notch and they equally enjoyed getting a rise out of each other. 10/10 The chapters were balanced in length. My favorite part was how Josh just automatically adopted Aly’s cat as his own.I honestly wasn’t expecting a cat to have such a strong roll in this book, but I am here for it. Fred the cat is the best character.I really enjoyed the backstories for these characters, and I enjoyed the crime part as well. This was my first dark romance book, and let me tell you it is SPICY.
Soo I just I am so conflicted about how I feel about this book.I head so many ravings about it and how it was so funny and so cute and romantic…However…he literally stalked her. Invaded her house multiple times and privacy. She …I don’t know I feel like maybe she felt pressured into liking him in the beginning..like if she didn’t return his advances maybe he would kill her? Also um thank god brad was gone a serial rapist and absolutely no one did anything about it until now?? Just because his parents are rich??Her uncle is strange and I don’t see him letting this thing with Josh go..he could easily land himself into a situation and Nico has his dna and very incriminating evidence that he could pin on him and it would all of that against Aly’s word and even if she got evidence that her uncle is also not innocent she could be convicted as well.I also think hinting that Josh could also be a serial killer was weird and then he did kill someone and he did it on accident..wouldn’t the next death be on purpose??Couldn’t he keep going out of some sense of justice and defending Aly until he one day starts to fetishize about killing her but he doesn’t want to so he kills women that look like her? Also the forest scene… I just …no.Anyway at times it was pretty funny but this book was just a fetish for dating could be killers and having a lot of sex…therefore I leave my rating of that concept a 2The plot a 5The characters a 3And the overall storyline a 5Would not recommend to anyone who doesn’t like the aforementioned content and I might read it again.
Okay, this is a really sweet book. It's a sweet, light romance between people deeply into one another. Not a whole heck of a lot happens. There's not much of an actual story (That's why Im only giving it 4 stars). A story line in thrown in there, but it's not what the book is about, the story line reads like it was put in for SOMETHING at all to happen. Josh as a Hero was great. He is easy to love, especially all his sweet talk to Aly's cat. The book comes with all sorts of content warnings, and yes, those things happen, but nothing felt dark or weighted because the core of the story is a happy, albeit intense, love connection. Aly and Josh are perfect for each other. Do not read if you're bothered by scenes of coffee drinking, taking showers, and mentioning erections (cuz that makes up nearly all of the book!).
I absolutely loved Lights Out! After binge-reading several dark romances, this book was the perfect palate cleanser. It was light-hearted, fun, and had the perfect mix of witty banter that had me laughing out loud more than once. The chemistry between the characters was amazing, and while the beginning was a bit predictable, things quickly took unexpected turns that kept me hooked from start to finish. While Lights Out isn't the spiciest book I’ve ever read, it definitely has a good amount of smut to keep things steamy. The mix of humor, romance, and a bit of heat made it the perfect escape for me. I honestly couldn’t put it down once I got past the first few chapters.I’m so excited for the second book in the series, which is just a few weeks away. If you’re looking for a funny, steamy read with great character chemistry and a fun storyline, I highly recommend giving this one a try!
📖 ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡ 📖"Lɪɢʜᴛs Oᴜᴛ" ʙʏ Nᴀᴠᴇssᴀ Aʟʟᴇɴsᴛᴏʀʏ: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐sᴘɪᴄᴇ: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️I have to start with this was my first read from this author and I went in blind. I knew it was a masked/stalker romance and, being a 𝖉𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖗𝖔𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊 girlie, I was definitely down to give it a shot and dove right in...and I'm glad I finally did! I went in with absolutely no expectations...turns out, there was some delicious spice and hilarious banter from the black cat x chaotic hilarious golden retriever in this story and I'm so here for it!Overall, this was a really fun, fast-paced read with a twisty storyline that kept me entertained while laughing out loud. Not even 10% in and I was laughing out loud at both main characters’ inner (and outer) dialog! 🤣 Aly is a trauma ER nurse with a secret mask kink, social media stalking various online masked man accounts to blow off steam from her constant work schedule. Her favorite is the Faceless Man, who posts online thirst traps religiously three times a week for thousands of feral, fellow masked man fans. Then she drunk texts her on again/off again friend with benefits a screenshot of the Faceless Man asking for some masked fun…getting an instant denial (bummer). Little does she know, her FWB shows his roommate, Josh…not realizing his roommate IS the Faceless Man who is all too willing to give Aly what she wants! Talk about a lucky girl 😂 Insert instalust, online stalking, breaking and entering, delightfully funny, filthy, dominant unhinged shenanigans and you have yourself a fun little stalker romcom. I'm a new Navessa Allen fan! 😏😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻It’s worth mentioning some of the reviews posted about the second half of the story surrounding Aly's estranged cousins/uncle where the plot seems to go on a little tangent. Personally, I didn't really have any issue with it as it actually made sense in the context of the story in my opinion. It introduces several more characters and (I'm guessing) sets up potential subsequent books in the series while tying up this plot in a neat little bow. Is it 💯% factual, no of course not, but that’s the beauty of fiction: it doesn’t have to be! I followed along just fine, enjoyed the plot twists, and laugh out loud moments 🤣 so I didn't have any problem with it and just went along for the ride! Was this book as dark as I expect my 𝖉𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖗𝖔𝖒𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊𝖘 to be? Absolutely not. Are there dark themes and descriptions of dark acts? Yep. Did it have spicy, spicy scenes involving a masked, hot, tattooed, morally gray, filthy dominant man taking control and giving us all what we want? 💯%! Did I enjoy it? 𝒀𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒓, 𝑰 𝒂𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒕! And the fantastically hilarious banter and fun development of the main characters was worth the read in my opinion (I really love them!)This book is the "lite" edition of dark romance, a dark romcom if that’s such a thing, with a delightfully funny, chaotically sexy, unhinged and morally gray 𝓰𝓸𝓵𝓭𝓮𝓷 𝓻𝓮𝓽𝓻𝓲𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻 MMC crossed with 𝖇𝖑𝖆𝖈𝖐 𝖈𝖆𝖙, boss lady FMC energy. If you're a hardcore dark romance girl and all the details that entails? You might not like this book. However, if you like funny, rom-coms with a dark theme, light BDSM with questionable toys, filthy talking, hot masked men with random plot twists and a strong FMC? You definitely want to read this one! I loved it and I'll definitely be back for book #2, whenever that one comes out 😊 I haven't read B&BB but I'm told this is similar FYI.Bottomline: It's a spicy, fun read that will have you simultaneously laughing out loud and falling in love with the main characters and their fur baby, Fred the cat. 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑠𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟, 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑦𝑠 𝑡𝑜𝑔𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟. 🔪😉 Let that marinate for a minute... Read it, you're welcome lol! 😜OH! And PS the audio version of this book is 𝓹𝓱𝓮𝓷𝓸𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓪𝓵! I don't usually listen to audio books BUT the male narrator deserves a medal and an award!
