Once upon a time, I was a little girl who disappeared. Once upon a time, my name was not Alice. Once upon a time, I didn't know how lucky I was. When Alice was ten, Ray took her away from her family, her friends -- her life. She learned to give up all power, to endure all pain. She waited for the nightmare to be over. Now Alice is fifteen and Ray still has her, but he speaks more and more of her death. He does not know it is what she longs for. She does not know he has something more terrifying than death in mind for her. This is Alice's story. It is one you have never heard, and one you will never, ever forget.

Honestly didn't like HOW it was written. The plot and story was good. Kept me intrested. I got this recommendation from tictok
Definitely check trigger warnings!I didn’t expect the graphic description would get to me like this. The brain washing that was done is terrifying. It makes my skin crawl thinking about the lengths people go to do these types of horrific things to children. And how desperate things got at the end just for it to end without her freedom. Gut wrenching.
Uh. What? This is what I get for going in blind? This book came up in a horror list and then on the kindle sale, so I thought I’d gotten lucky. No. No one is lucky in this tale, everyone is traumatised, including me. I will say that this was fast paced and gripping, had strong characters for such a short novel, and was handled well (albeit with a few too many blowjobs). I won’t forget this story anytime soon, but I also don’t know if I would recommend it to anyone. At all. Ever.
This book was hard for me to rate, I wanted to give it a 3 because I wasn’t real happy with how it ended. It was also kind of hard to read because of the broken sentences and the way it was written (I can understand why it was like that but still made it hard for me😂). But I would say overall it was pretty good, definitely sad.
I’m not a person who is into books. I just started to read and this book was recommended on TikTok. I wanted to give it a chance. I finished this in one day, while at work, and it left me emotionally wrecked. This is not for the faint of heart. I had to put the book down a couple of times just so I can comprehend what is happening. My heart was breaking, my soul was aching, I am in tears throughout this book. It psychologically and emotionally messed me up. The ending, I had hope and wanted more and I was let down. This type of book happens in real life, especially as a parent, I just want to hold my kid tighter.I deff say give this book a try, go with an open mind. Just be prepared for what is about to happen.
