From USA Today Bestselling Author, Renée Carlino, comes a totally unique love story that is sure to make you question what's out there . . . or who. "My guardian angel is a drunk." Evelyn Casey's life is at a standstill. She's in her mid-twenties, struggling with the dating scene in San Francisco. Nothing seems to be working out, and she's starting to think that she'll live out her days in her crummy apartment with her overbearing roommate, Brooklyn. It's absurd, but sometimes Evey longs for a guardian angel to show up and save the day. And then he does. Seriously. His name is Lucian and he's a guardian angel, been on the job for two thousand years. His sudden presence in her life is both good-he's brilliant, witty, and warm-and bad-he's brilliant, witty, warm, and hot as ----. But as perfect as Lucian seems, he's got problems of his own. He's taken up drinking and he's brazenly inserted himself into Evey's life, going against the greatest cosmic law ever created. For Evey, the rules are simple: You are not allowed to hook up with your guardian angel. But sometimes fulfilling your destiny requires a leap of faith, a confrontation with God. Yes, God as in God.

Angels are awesome!

I don’t think I have ever gotten this emotional over a book. It was so good.I have loved the books Renee Carlino has written, but I think this one is my favorite. I’ve always been interested in angels and if it is all real. This was so creative and wonderfully written. Such a lovely story.

Angelic

I went back and forth a lot with this one, I feel like it was a rating between a 3.75 and 4. I didn’t like it as much as her first book I read, but I did enjoy it a lot. I still am planning on reading her other work and I think I will highly enjoy her writing still.

Would have been better with flashbacks

This book was okay--not my favorite book by this author. I loved the description of the book, and parts of the actual book lived up to it, but overall I wasn't able to connect with the book, and I found the ending a little bit confusing. It started out strong, but seemed to taper off along the way. And I saw another reviewer mention it would be nice to see Lucian fall in love with Evey (to get flashbacks of the process, or something similar). I 100% agree. i think without that, it was harder to care about the characters, though many reviewers disagree.

I absolutely love how Renee Carlino writes

I absolutely love how Renee Carlino writes. Her words bring the world to you mind as though you were living it...even in a little quirky, maybe a little different book as this one. It truly is about fate, destiny, love and in the end, faith. This is not your usual love story. Who gets to meet their guardian angel? Who ends up falling in love with their guardian angel? Who is lucky enough to have this wonderful being fall in love with them? This isn't how the world works. Whether or not you believe in guardian angels, this story makes you completely believe that someone or something is definitely out there watching out for you.Lucian and Evey have their work cut out for them and the universe may not be ready or willing to let this all happen. Will destiny allow them to be together, will God?This story is mystical, beautiful, painful but also loving and accepting.

What if your guardian angel falls in love with you?

Lucian is Evey's guardian angel, he's been protecting her all her life but that protectiveness grows into personal feelings, things angels aren't suppose to experience. He finally shows himself to her and goes farther. Evey is confused that when she finds that right guy he can't show her his feelings without going against the rules. I found the story line very intriguing but I felt the ending was a little rushed, the new beginning summed up in two short chapters. I would liked to have seen how it, or why it started at that point, a little more info would have been nice.
