Very sweet love story of kids who had always loved each other but were apart for years and then rekindle their flame as adults.I loved Nico from the beginning. He was so sweet and smart. I'm not sure he made the best capo, but we really didn't get to see that side much. Sofia was just a little naive, passive, even though she was doing something illegal. Although that thing could've totally gotten her killed.The tie with Michael was interesting, but I think that tie could've been explored more and turned into a little more action.I also thought her dad, the boss being so laid back and in hiding was weird and took a lot of the edge and action off of the story which would've made it better. It was never revealed exactly what happened with her brother which bothered me. Also, why was there not any urgency to get Sal.Those are the reasons that I can't rate this any higher. The story is probably a 3.75, but the writing is really good.
I was so intrigued by Sofia & Nico’s story after the glimpse of Sofia’s reaction in the first book, and I ate this one up.The history no one knew about? The mystery and continuing suspense from the overarching story that started in the first book? Nico’s determination and protectiveness? Sofia’s secrets? I devoured it and am immediately starting the next book!
A complete package with strong characters and believable relationships. No real trigger warnings except for a kidnapping…no torture or on page violence. A lovely love story…
So worth the read. Nico and Sofia is everything. Their story is told really well. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
This author delivers every time when it comes to Mafia romance!! I read one of her later series of hers before this series and was hooked from the start!
