The special hardcover collector's edition of Casey McQuiston's beloved New York Times bestselling novel, featuring illustrated endpapers, bonus content, pink stained edges and more!

For cynical twenty-three-year-old August, moving to New York City is supposed to prove her right: that things like magic and cinematic love stories don't exist, and the only smart way to go through life is alone. She can't imagine how waiting tables at a 24-hour pancake diner and moving in with too many weird roommates could possibly change that. And there's certainly no chance of her subway commute being anything more than a daily trudge through boredom and electrical failures.

But then, there's this gorgeous girl on the train.

Jane. Dazzling, charming, mysterious, impossible Jane. Jane with her rough edges and swoopy hair and soft smile, showing up in a leather jacket to save August's day when she needed it most. August's subway crush becomes the best part of her day, but pretty soon, she discovers there's one big problem: Jane doesn't just look like an old school punk rocker. She's literally displaced in time from the 1970s, and August is going to have to use everything she tried to leave in her own past to help her. Maybe it's time to start believing in some things, after all.

Casey McQuiston's One Last Stop is a magical, sexy, big-hearted romance where the impossible becomes possible as August does everything in her power to save the girl lost in time.

Unexpected

Started out thinking it was the silliest romance I had ever tried to read, but somewhere along the way the story pulled me in. Amazing story, give this one a try.

Disappointing

❌ Bookish ThoughtsThis just didn’t land for me. It felt way too long, and honestly… I didn’t like Jane. At all. There was so much happening, but also somehow nothing? So many filler convos that dragged everything out. I had to push myself to finish this one, which sucks because it’s been sitting on my TBR forever. Definitely disappointed.

I really wanted to love this book but it lost me at the plot twist

I really wanted to love this novel. I went into “One Last Stop” completely blind; other than it’s a queer love story set in the subway. That synopsis instantly sold me as a queer native New Yorker. However, when it got to the plot twist, it completely lost me. Even a little bit before it was losing it. It’s really strange how the author can get real on homophobia and the fear mongering towards the community that happened throughout different points in history, but in the same breath also paint a romanticized version of the subway??Slight spoiler but I can assure you that no one making their way through transit is going to be dancing and clapping to someone jamming around the subway car on their headset… you will not be acknowledged haha. That was the start of when it all started to fall flat for me. The plot twist was not one that I was engaged with. If anything, it disappointed me that *that* was the explanation as to why they kept running into each other.I thought the pining and later romance was sweet, up until the “research” portion, where it felt forced and weird that I had to unfortunately put this book down for good.If the tone changed afterwards, I apologize but I could not continue it.
