A GOOD MORNING AMERICA BOOK CLUB PICK
"With its countless epiphanies and surprises, Β Oona proves difficult to put down." --USA Today
"By turns tragic and triumphant, heartbreakingly poignant and joyful, this is ultimately an uplifting and redemptive read." --The Guardian
A remarkably inventive novel that explores what it means to live a life fully in the moment, even if those moments are out of order.
It's New Year's Eve 1982, and Oona Lockhart has her whole life before her. At the stroke of midnight she will turn nineteen, and the year ahead promises to be one of consequence. Should she go to London to study economics, or remain at home in Brooklyn to pursue her passion for music and be with her boyfriend? As the countdown to the New Year begins, Oona faints and awakens thirty-two years in the future in her fifty-one-year-old body. Greeted by a friendly stranger in a beautiful house she's told is her own, Oona learns that with each passing year she will leap to another age at random. And so begins Β Oona Out of Order...
Hopping through decades, pop culture fads, and much-needed stock tips, Oona is still a young woman on the inside but ever changing on the outside. Who will she be next year? Philanthropist? Club Kid? World traveler? Wife to a man she's never met? Surprising, magical, and heart-wrenching, Margarita Montimore has crafted an unforgettable story about the burdens of time, the endurance of love, and the power of family.

This was a fun book! I wish it was longer, but there really wouldn't be a perfect place to stop it due to the nature of the story. I would suggest it as a fun simple read that makes you think about time travel.
Nothing riveting, a decent easy read. Character development left something to be desired but the book was light and interesting.
I was hoping we would see a lot more of wise Oona who thought before acting, but that didn't really come about. I get it, just taking 7 years to adjust sorta killed me lol.
Original yet old fashioned. Hopeful and engaging. Ridiculous premise with so much well thought out conflict and revelation. I didnβt think it could work but the story captivated me. So interesting!
βEverything has its time.βThis was a very interesting book told about Oona who somehow travels through different years in her life each year, in no particular order. Each time she wakes in the βnew yearβ she has left herself a note to sort of adjust to whatever year she has coming upβ¦and a brief cryptic summary of the year previous. If you donβt get hung up in the actual science and unexplained βhowβ of her time travel, then you will love this book. The only reason I didnβt give it all 5 stars was that we never find out how or why this is happening, aside from a brief explanation from Oona saying, βI have a conditionβ.I did appreciate reading a book unlike any I have read lately though! Very interesting way to tell the life story of someone!
