One character’s expression of being nonbinary stood out as especially moving and honest.Sofia Oxenham’s narration is steady and engaging, with a warm tone that fits the lyrical style of the writing. A few mispronunciations were noticeable, but overall, the performance enhanced the immersive feel of the story.This wasn’t an easy read, especially given my own recent loss, and there were moments that felt emotionally sharp. But I’m glad I read it. The themes of love—across time, across bodies, across pain—felt honest and important. For me, the greatest takeaway was that love, no matter its form or ending, still matters.
