#1 New York Times Bestseller
Set during Powerless, fan-favorite Adena gets a story all her own in this unique special edition of the runaway hit! This deluxe format includes sprayed stenciled edges, decorative endpapers, case stamping, ribbon marker, and Powerless trivia and quizzes!
Adena and Paedyn have always been inseparable. Fate brought them together when they were young, but friendship ensured they would always protect each other and the home they built in the slums of Loot. But now Paedyn--an Ordinary--has been selected for the Purging Trials, which means almost certain death.
Now alone in Loot, Adena must fend for herself. After attempting to steal, she's rescued by a mysterious man from the market. Mak's shadowy past and secretive power set him apart from the other low-level Elites of Loot. And as the pair team up to see their loved ones before the Trials, the quest tests their loyalty, their love, and their lives.

Soooo soo good and equally heartbreaking. Definitely recommend reading after first book. This book does not disappoint- couldn’t read it fast enough!
Even though it’s a novella, it gives great insight into Adena’s character and adds depth to the Powerless world. A must-read for fans of the series who want to know more about the people left behind.
Working perfectly
My rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Swearing: 🗣️🗣️🗣️Tropes:⚒️Rivals to lovers🧵Tragedy⚒️Grumpy x sunshine🧵Slow burn⚒️Lover x fighter🧵”always run to me”Oh. My. Gosh. Saying I loved this book would be an understatement. Adena and Mak are probably my favorite, yes i know the main story is Kai and Paedyn but I love these two just as much. Makoto Khitan has my heart. I love Mak so much, even though this story is sad it is still beautiful. You get to see both Adena and Mak grow together, they have nothing but eachother and that is amazing. This book was so so good but it did leave me crying. Which is a good indicator it was well written. I still wont get over the quote “See you in the sky”, I love them so much.
