Everyone has secrets, but not everyone has remorse...
A terrible accident.
Meghan Michaels is trying to find balance between being a single mom and working full time as an ICU nurse, when a patient named Caitlin arrives in her ward with a traumatic brain injury. They say she jumped from a bridge and plunged over twenty feet to the train tracks below.
A shocking revelation.
When a witness comes forward with new details about Caitlin's fall, it calls everything they know into question. Was a crime committed? Did someone actually push Caitlin, and if so, who... and why?
No one is safe.
Meghan lets herself get close to Caitlin until she's deeply entangled in the mystery surrounding her. Only when it's too late, does she realize that she and her daughter could be the next victims...

There are more twists to this story than a Chubby Checker album. I wasnβt a fan of Meghan. Her first reaction to everything was PANIC! I wouldnβt want that in a nurse. The board was too lenient on her.
Very suspenseful and keeps your interest throughout the book.
I read it in one setting. The book does keep you guessing but the ending is just so unsatisfying to me.
This book kept my interest and the story seemed to moved well but I felt like some of the plot twists/revelations didn't really make sense and it was distracting feeling like the timeline of things didn't really match up. Decent read but didn't feel like everything was tied up well
Grab your snacks and blanket β¦youβll be here awhile. Mary Kubica has an impressive catalog and with one exception every book has earned 4 βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ. I rarely give 5 star reviews because I save them for βthose booksβ, the ones youβll always remember the title and you return too.The characters, setting and story arcs were perfect. In this novel you get two distinct stories running parallel to each other seamlessly. The twists and turns will have you scratching your head - wondering how did I miss that?
