I almost had it this time! I was so close to knowing who the murderer was! Ha! I’m catching on Freida! Yes I feel a bit smug. lol. I truly hated every character in the book, they were all not so great people. Even the next door neighbor was an old curmudgeon! It wasn’t hard to think they all were the murderer at some point or in cahoots. Once you start a Freida McFadden book, they are hard to put down and keep you guessing til the end.
This was our book club kick off and it was a great choice! It was such a fast and thrilling read that everyone in the club had it read in 4 days and we can’t stoptalking about it.True to form McFadden lays a map of twists and turns out before you and then totally wrecks it!They are all trying to drive each other crazy and honestly, they’re succeeding. Character list is full of ones you love to hate and hate to love, and in the end, you’re not sure about anyone!Highly recommend!
I really like Freida’s style of writing, but until I had read 60% of it, this book was making me angry. I really wanted the agony of the character to be resolved because eit was making me anxious and annoyed. Later, I could antecipate the first plot twists because I have read “The Boyfriend” previously. It is still an amazing book and I recommend reading it, I just wish it had had less similar writing style and format as some of her other work.
You already know if Freida writes it, I am going to read it. I wasn't sure going into this one and I kind of went in blind not really knowing what the story line centered around other than obviously a tenant. This was by far one of her better books of late. About 30% in I told someone that it was just your typical Freida book. 50% in, the twists started twisting and I couldn't put it down. While some of it was slightly predictable, the twists kept coming until the last page and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can also say with great confidence that a roommate or a tenant are not in my future after reading this. People can be truly messed up and you would have no idea until the crazy just explodes! Truly enjoyed this one! Highly recommend you grab yourself a copy and buckle up for the ride!
