The Boy Named Boy: A Memoir

The Boy Named Boy is a raw, unflinching memoir of abandonment, identity, survival, and self-discovery. Found crying alone in an abandoned house, Ernesto Cuevas entered the world unnamed and unclaimed-a newborn without a past. Adopted by a Mexican-American family, raised in silence, and burdened with secrets no child should carry, he grew up navigating racism, rejection, and the aching void of not knowing who he truly was.
This is the story of a man who searched for his roots through decades of pain, military service, music, and healing. From bar fights to battle zones, from haunting silence to soulful songs, Ernesto's journey proves that even those forgotten by the world can leave a legacy that lasts.
Brutally honest and deeply human, The Boy Named Boy is for anyone who's ever felt lost in their own story-and dared to write a new one.

I just finished this book by Ernesto Cuevas. It’s heartfelt, powerful, raw and gripping. Do yourself a favor and read this book! Ernie’s words touched my soul and I’ll never forget his story. I’m so thankful God placed you on this earth to SURVIVE and tell your story, Ernie. I’m getting out my Lost Flowers CD - Carolina Pines, first thing tomorrow morning. Looking forward to hearing you sing those powerful songs again.
This memoir is a must read. Everyone should read this I couldn’t put it down. It’s an easy quick read
This book is a great read! It will touch your heart & your soul. I've met the author, great guy & musician! He has such a presence &, it comes across in #TheBoyNamedBoy. Trust me, this is a keeper.
I have known Ernie vaguely for a while. I have had the pleasure of working with 2 of his children for some time. To read this and know what he has accomplished with raising such strong, loving, hard working kids puts me in awe.
Great book!!! Incredible story. I am proud to call Ernie my friend. Very talented individual and love hearing his stories. Buy the book. You will love it!!
