The daughter of legendary Dungeons & Dragons adventurers Drizzt Do'Urden and Catti-brie fights to build her own legacy in a brand-new series from R. A. Salvatore.
My name is not "Drizzt's daughter."
Breezy Do'Urden is more than just the heir of legendary heroes. For the past decade, she has dedicated herself to the study of combat, magic, and more recently, to the elusive Way of Shadow, honing her body and mind into a keen and singular weapon. But even after years of effort, her parents, Drizzt and Cattie-brie, struggle to see Breezy as more than just their little girl. Determined to prove them wrong, Breezy takes on the most intense challenge she can: to fight her way to becoming a Master of Dragons at the renowned Monastery of the Yellow Rose.
Meanwhile, in the shadows of Westbridge, Dahlia Sin'felle plots her rise to power. Once a broken soul, Dahlia has few friends and fewer options to make her way through the world. But Dahlia believes she has discovered a new path to restored glory: the transformative charm and cunning of a vampire. With every step toward immortality, she consolidates her influence, building an empire from the darkness, even as she contends with her own monstrous instincts--and her complicated past with Breezy's family.
As Breezy fights her way through the shadows, and Dahlia follows her dark ambitions, both seek to find their place in a world that can be both brutal and beautiful. No matter the challenges, their divergent paths are forged by the same choice: their fates will be theirs and theirs alone.

I have grown up with Salvatore's writing and characters, after first discovering The Crystal Shard on the shelves of a bookshop and being enthralled by the original artwork. I think in the last four decades, I have only felt the slightest disappointment in one of the many stories he has written, and I'm very happy with the latest addition to his saga.Salvatore's richly detailed style brings the setting to life, and beloved characters are not just shunted aside as he introduces a new generation. It's a good move, diversifying from - but not abandoning - the dark elf who stands among the best known and loved fantasy characters ever. The story is well written, and the influence of the transition from the Forgotten Realms banner to the more generic D&D IP is clearly visible, through the item, style and spell names sprinkled throughout the text. Once again I find myself eagerly awaiting the next installment!
This book was so refreshing, as much as I love the Companions of the Hall the battles are always earthshaking and the consequences of failure are world ending. It was nice to get this book with smaller more personal battles and to see growth and get a different perspective of our favorite heroes. Long live Breezy!
I recently finished The Finest Edge of Twilight: Dungeons and Dragons by R. A. Salvatore, and I am absolutely blown away! This science fiction series is an exhilarating journey that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.Salvatore’s masterful storytelling shines through in the fascinating characters, each richly developed and compelling. Their unique personalities and growth throughout the series make it easy to become emotionally invested. The dynamics between them add depth and authenticity to the narrative. The plot is nothing short of exciting, weaving intricate twists and turns with seamless pacing. Every chapter unfolds new surprises, maintaining a perfect balance of action, suspense, and heartfelt moments. The vivid world-building immerses you fully into the Dungeons and Dragons universe, making it feel both epic and intimately engaging.Whether you're a longtime fan of R. A. Salvatore or new to his work, The Finest Edge of Twilight is a must-read. It’s a brilliant fusion of science fiction and fantasy, with a storyline that lingers in your mind long after the final page. Highly recommended!
I had high hopes for this book, but ultimately it failed to live up to them. I had hoped that the companions would have been more in the background of the story. I had hoped for a little less plot armor and world class abilities. But it wasn't to be. She's everything that made her father great, plus everything that made her mother great, in one package. She's a monk, a wizard, and somehow a bit of a cleric despite not following any god or doing any praying. She's already got more magic items then my BG3 character after 100 hrs of gameplay. I got to 90% before I set it aside. When the next books come out, I'll wait a bit and see if I really want to try again. Hopefully we'll see less of the old characters and more new ones.
Tore this new book up as soon as it arrived! Oh wow, just a great direction to go with a new feeling of adventure with a familiar world that I’ve known. Great to see familiar faces within the book with a new lead, please enjoy all, I know I am!
