I've seen the movie, many times. The book, as books tend to do, really outdoes it in every way. If you loved the movie, you'll absolutely adore this book. If you haven't watched the movie, you'll probably won't like it as much as you love reading this book. Great action and spy thriller, the different points of view give you a really full view of the entire plot as different characters see different parts of it, but only you get to experience the whole.
All the rabid anti Soviet sentiment. what a joke now. What would Clancy think with Vlad running our country via Donny? The clowns have given away the whole circus.
I totally get why people say Tom Clancy books are tough to read. He goes into so much detail, some of which is unnecessary, and you can feel lost halfway through. But the plot was awesome, the characters were great, and the writing was just a bit too much for me. I’ll definitely read the next book, but it’ll be a while before I’m ready to dive into his style again.
Amazing. A must read if you enjoy suspense, action and the good guys. It's what America was when we were kings.
Full of technical detail. Fast paced, but unavoidably hard to follow in places for those not well versed in naval or undersea terminology. Worth the effort.
