I have always loved your books, but this one was the best out of all of them! My favorite book before this one was Darkness of Dragons. I love your books so much that I have memorized all 15 Books' names just because I love them so much! I am nine and my mom encourages me to read these books, but I really wanted to read the first book and the books kept getting better and better! I hope you can see this review. I loved the concept behind flamesilks and silk wings but I don't like how they don't explain the leaf wings

Plot twists were very good. I love the characters and how everything comes in two play. Over all a very good book.

Rereading definitely made me appreciate the world of The Lost Continent even more than the first time. The relationship between the SilkWings and HiveWings is so utterly heartbreaking. Queen Wasp's usage of a pacifistic society is sickening and a little too realistic, in some ways. SilkWings are raised with good food and homes and education, but they are forced into breeding programs (nothing as inhumane as warehouses or sex slaves, but they are told whom they can be mated with and so on), trained for specific jobs and only those jobs, seen as second class citizens, and dissension and "misbehavior" is dealt with severely. Young SilkWings are taken every school year to the jail and forced to see what will happen if they misbehave. SilkWings who mature into flamesilks are thrown into dark pits and forced to spin their silk as a commodity for the HiveWings, controlled entirely by Queen Wasp. The dank caves with timed feeding is considered preferable by its inhabitants because, as Admiral tells Blue near the end of the book, "there used to be chains."This easy manipulation of power by Wasp and the devotion of the HiveWings--who unknowingly are pawns to Wasp as well--makes her one of the most interesting villains to date. Everything about this book makes me think about if Blister had become queen of the SandWings in the first series cycle. This is the series of "what happens after the evil queen wins the throne." I cannot wait to see how this plays out over the next four books. I find the characters to be fascinating, complex--though still needing development--and I want to learn more about Wasp, the war, and the geography of the continent.

This book was purchased for my 8 year old who has been obsessed with dragons since reading the first of these books a couple years ago. When she found out a new book was coming out, she started her campaign to wear me down and thus 4 months later, I bought the book. (Based on who much we read, I usually only buy books that I think will have staying power.) She read it non-stop for a couple weeks and still goes back to it ever couple weeks or so.The premise is an off shoot of the original Wings of Fire series. It tells the store of dragons on a different continent. Yes there is fights, death, birth, coming of age (in this case getting their butterfly wings); but its all told in an appropriate for kids that aren't close to puberty yet type of way. LOVE these books for the fire it's lite in my children's desires for reading and sparking their imaginations. (puns intended)

This book is the greatest. I can not beleive that by the end of the book, Blue is just like like Luna! 'Cause at the start of the book he seems so well behaved. And Cricket, she helps Blue, even though she should be turning him in. Cricket is special, I mean, she can't be mind controlled by Queen Wasp! I am addicted to this series. Seriosly, my pages would look like, 100 years old if they were actually on paper. I also can't beleive that Luna thinks that Clearsight would have set up her tribe to be the strongest tribe! I've read Legends Of Darkstalker (Like i said, I'm addicted to this series.) and Clearsight is the one who stops Darkstalker, along with Fathom, poor Seawing, he saw his Darkstallker make Arctic (Darkstalker's father) kill himself. That thought makes me shiver to my core. Anyway, Wings of fire 11 is an amazing book and you should definitely read it. I have no idea who I'm talking to, but i hope this loooooong review helps someone to read this book, because it is amazing. You know, this review is kinda long, I might say, but, I think the love between Blue and Cricket definitely holds better then my writing here.

I loved the book. The plot was excellent, there were amazing characters, and everything works well together. However. There are two complaints. Number one is minor but i feel like i have to adress it. In the epilogue, Moon does not seem to be able to read Luna's mind. This is pretty weird, as the concept of mind reading was really important in arcs 1 and 2. The other one, however, really bugs me. In DoD's epilogue, Hope alludes to a so called "Legend of the Hive". However, the existence of this is impossible. The Hives were only built after Clearsight came to Pantala. Hope's time was slightly before and way after this. Also, the Hives are almost certainly named after the Hivewings, a tribe only existing after Clearsight mated and had eggs with a orange Silkwing (Look closely at the prolouge as well as a hint from Cricket about how Hivewings used to have antennae like the Silkwings.) Yes, A Nightwing could have forseen it, but then it would be called the prophecy of the Hive, not the legend. Also if you look at Sundew's initial personality and a few quips fom her it is even possibly that the Hives were created during or slightly after the tree wars, as well as the fact that Wasp hive is named and heavily decorated after queen Wasp.However, other than these issues, I love the book.

This is the eleventh book in the Wings of Fire series and starts a new storyline on a new continent we have never visited before. Although some of the story elements are very similar to previous books, I did really enjoy meeting new characters and exploring both whole new types of dragons and a whole new landscape. I continue to read these mainly because my son reads this series and likes to discuss it with me; however I actually really enjoyed this book!This book starts with a prequel featuring Clearwater and her journey across the seas to a new continent of Dragons. The new continent is called Pantala. There are new types of dragons on Pantal including HiveWings, LeafWings, and SilkWings. After this prequel we journey many centuries into the future where a SilkWing named Blue is preparing for his Metamorphosis along with his sister Luna.This book introduces a whole bunch of new dragon types and some great new fun characters. I loved Blue with his quiet tentativeness and Cricket with her non-traditional HiveWing views.All the characters in here are a lot of fun. The new world is interesting as well. There was a lot of adventure, some awesome fight scenes, and lots of new and interesting dragon-abilities and politics.Overall this was a fun and quick read that I enjoyed a lot. I really enjoyed the new and creative setting and the new types of dragons. My son also really loved this book. Sutherland continues to write an intriguing adventure fantasy series that has fun characters and is highly entertaining to read. Recommended to those who enjoy middle grade fantasy adventure featuring dragons.

I was up at 12 for this book and it was worth it! You know that feeling where you know stuff the characters don't becuase you read the other books? Well I had that feeling THE WHOLE TIME. I hate but love it. Like you wish they just knew and you are like "Just sit down and explain everything already!!!" but hten you like have to read more. A very smart device Tui. So I have been waiting for this for tooooo long. I got the first book in the series 5 days after it came out and after that I read every bool as soon as it came out. I totally thought they would be named like Hiveclaws or tails, but I suppose Clearsight would have named them so... Ok so i totally get where Blue is coming from, takong others perspective and having a ton of empathy. I used to be like that as a kid, crying over those times in a movie where some persons hard work goes to waste. I also love the flamesilk concept, like less powerfu animous dragons. Anyway this was an amazing book likee all the rest, except the seawing ones, I didnt like those… no they were good just not aaas good as the others. Aanywaaay I love these books sooooooo much

To put it simply, I was dreading this book, and was pleasantly surprised by what I found. It was a good book, for sure. I liked the plot, and HATED the villain, and was quickly endeared to the main characters. What I didn’t like - the book started off at a good pace, but as soon as the plot picked up it went so fast it felt like time was in fast forward. Also, the world was very different, incredibly more advanced than any of the books before, leaving me feeling disconnected from the previous books. It took far too long before I felt like I was reading wings of Fire and not some brand new series. The plot twists were rather predictable for a longtime reader. Though to be fair, few books ever surprise me with their plot twists. The most ‘major’ revelation was very much set up from the beginning and frankly, I would have been MUCH more surprised if the plot twist had at the very least held off till the next book. The epilogue, (spoilers?) back on the original continent felt like a different author had written it, (complete with the utter butchering of the character Qibli, who already suffered deeply in book 10) though the main part of the book was written as normal. I would give it three and a half stars if possible. Good book, but still underwhelming and doesn’t quite tie in with the other books. I erred toward the four star side just because so many of the books I’ve read lately have been complete and utter trash.

The Lost Continent by Tui Sutherland was simply an amazing read. The new tribes and continent, Pantala, were all original and the characters were fleshed out. I found Danaid and Luna as my two favorite characters. There was a younger Foeslayer/ Fatespeaker- like character who, although entertaining, wasn't very original. I also assumed from the summary that they would ALL be going to Pyhrria, when, in fact, only ONE dragon, who was not the main character, saw Pyhrria and THAT was at the end of the book. I also assumed that we would see the main character after his metamorphosis, but we didn't. Additionally I would've liked to learn more about what happened to Clearsight and the origin story of the HiveWings, but, oh well. I do think that, altogether, my favorite part was the epilogue. I'm probably biased because I read her book first out of all the Wings of Fire books, but Moon has always been my favorite character, so I'm positively thrilled that she'll be playing a part in this series.
