The second gripping novel in the New York Times bestselling Thursday Murder Club series, the first of which Kate Atkinson called A little beacon of pleasure in the midst of the gloom. . . SUCH FUN!
Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim--the Thursday Murder Club--are still riding high off their recent real-life murder case and are looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet at Cooper's Chase, their posh retirement village.
But they are out of luck.
An unexpected visitor--an old pal of Elizabeth's (or perhaps more than just a pal?)--arrives, desperate for her help. He has been accused of stealing diamonds worth millions from the wrong men and he's seriously on the lam.
Then, as night follows day, the first body is found. But not the last. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim are up against a ruthless murderer who wouldn't bat an eyelid at knocking off four septuagenarians. Can our four friends catch the killer before the killer catches them? And if they find the diamonds, too? Well, wouldn't that be a bonus? You should never put anything beyond the Thursday Murder Club.
Richard Osman is back with everyone's favorite mystery-solving quartet, and the second installment of The Thursday Murder Club series is just as clever and warm as the first--an unputdownable, laugh-out-loud pleasure of a read.

Not my favorite but Another great read. I love the way the characters are developing. can’t wait for the Netflix’s show.
It had been a while since I read the first book in the series, Thursday Murder Club, I remembered that I enjoyed it, but I didn't remember how wonderful our main characters are! Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron, and Ibrahim are just amazing seniors that each add so much to the group. Working together on their "cases" has also added to their bond and rhythm. In this adventure, Elizabeth gets a blast from the past with a mystery that totally draws her in personally and professionally. Ibrahim has an incident that leaves him, injured, vulnerable, and withdrawing from life. Their friends will not let them handle their situations alone, and the results are wild, clever, and totally engrossing! This was such a fun read. Can't wait to spend more time with this crew and their small band of friends!
The original Thursday Murder Club was so tightly written and fun. One character I really loved was Joyce who was portrayed as down-to-earth and respected. She was the glue that held group together. In this book she appears as more ditsy. Other characters tolerate her and there is some eye-rolling. Ibrahim's character deepens. Liked that. The plot here seems less believable. The appearance of Elizabeth's first husband seems an odd plot device. Too convenient.I enjoyed the book but not so much as I'd hoped.
Really great read…. I so enjoyed this book! I would highly recommend it!Looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
This second book in the Thursday Murder Club series is just as good as the first! We already know the members, so the story just begins. And it goes everywhere. The arms dealer who keeps valuables safe for other criminals, the local drug supplier, the random young men who beat up random people just for fun. And, of course, the MI5 (or is it MI6) operatives who still keep in touch. Everyone has something going on, and it all gets taken care of and tied up neatly in the end. Just as you would expect.
