Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?
In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig's enchanting blockbuster novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place.

This is a great book! It made me reflect on my own life. I felt the pain and happiness that Nora felt. It was relatable and made me feel like I wasn’t alone. It’s an easy read with a great concept. Give it a read! You won’t regret it!
Five star read and I don’t give those often. Enjoyed it so much I’ve been buying it as gifts for my fellow book lovers. Gotta love same day shipping for last minute gifts too!
I found this book because I was on a time travel kick, and Googled the top time travel books. This isn’t really that, but I discovered a new author that I truly enjoy. Not only is his writing technically good; his books are also infused with humanity that transcends genre. I walk away feeling a little bit uplifted and introspective. After reading this book, it’s got me thinking about the things I regret in my life, and re-framing them in a new light. Each of those decisions have brought me to where I am today, and though my life may have been easier going down other paths, I would not want to end up anywhere else. It’s a powerful thing to get that from reading a “science fiction” book.
I think I’m lost most of us who have thought “What if?” What if this isn’t my life? What if I could have done things differently? What if I could change the things I’ve regretted? What if I could have a do over? That’s what “The Midnight Library” is about. Nora is just overwhelmed by how terrible her life is going, and in one day, she loses her job, her only piano student’s parents quit her, her neighbor doesn’t need her anymore, it’s pouring down rain and she’s caught in it, and her cat died … Nora just wants it to be over…But Nora’s given a remarkable gift; a chance of a do-over. Actually multiple chances to take the road less traveled, to choose different paths, to take back all the regrets of life, to step into a different opportunity and to step back out when it’s not what she expected, or wanted, or was worse than the life she was giving up on.In all of her experiences, all of her take-backs and do-overs and different lives, Nora learns that not all regrets result in poor outcomes and not all choices that seem good lead to happiness. And that the way back is the way forward …. And it is good. 😊A charming read! I loved it!! 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
OMG! I loved this book. It was not the type of book I typically read so I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend this!
