NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - Two women haunted by their sisters' unsolved disappearances band together in this captivating mystery from the author of All Good People Here and host of the #1 true crime podcast Crime Junkie.

"Sharp, slick, and chilling, with a whiplash ending you'll never see coming."--Jeneva Rose, author of  Home Is Where the Bodies Are

Nicole "Nic" Monroe is in a rut. At twenty-four, she lives alone in a dinky apartment in her hometown of Mishawaka, Indiana, she's just gotten a DWI, and she works the same dead-end job she's been working since high school, a job she only has because her boss is a family friend and feels sorry for her. Everyone has felt sorry for her for the last seven years--since the day her older sister, Kasey, vanished without a trace.

On the night Kasey went missing, her car was found over a hundred miles from home. The driver's door was open and her purse was untouched in the seat next to it. The only real clue in her disappearance was Jules Connor, another young woman from the same area who disappeared in the same way, two weeks earlier. But with so little for the police to go on, both cases eventually went cold.

Nic wants nothing more than to move on from her sister's disappearance and the state it's left her in. But then one day, Jules's sister, Jenna Connor, walks into Nic's life and offers her something she hasn't felt in a long time: hope. What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything they've ever known.

A sad, twisty thriller.

My first book by this author and wow, it did not disappoint. I was drawn in immediately by the main character who was battling so many demons after her sister disappeared. I felt bad for her for probably 80% of the book. You'll understand why I stopped feeling bad for her after you read this. But this was extremely fast-paced, I read this in less than 24 hours and there were definitely no slow parts for me. And the twists at the end, holy moly my jaw dropped and is still on the ground. Many thanks to Random House Publishing - Ballentine|Bantam for the gifted copy!

Disappointing

This 2nd book was a disappointment to me. I didn't enjoy reading about a seriously dysfunctional family without any saving grace at all. The ending was awful. Unexpected, yes... but if this were a true story (spoiler alert) the character/s would live with guilt their entire lives and be eaten up from the inside out. No redemption at all. I also found the constant use of the "f" word unnecessary. It's not needed in writing a good book. Ms. Flowers is an excellent author. I really enjoyed her first book and pre-ordered this one thinking it would be a sequel. It's not. The characters are believable and the story was too... it's just not what I'd choose to read to relax and be entertained. I much prefer a happier, strong main character or one who is growing and becoming better rather than one who is seriously messed up.

Unbelievable and Unseen Curves with a Novel

Unbelievable and suspenseful! Miss Half will keep readers guessing! A must read if you like suspense and thrillers! The readers will keep guessing the plot or is it all a ploy? Great question! Must read to find out.

Gripping

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 starsThe Missing Half was a gripping and emotional story about secrets, identity, and the way the past never stays buried. I was immediately pulled in by the atmosphere and the layered characters—especially the protagonist’s quiet strength and resilience. The tension builds beautifully, and just when I thought I had it figured out, another twist unraveled. It’s both a mystery and a deeply human story about connection, memory, and what we choose to forget. The writing was haunting and immersive. I only docked half a star because I wanted just a little more closure—but honestly, this one stuck with me.

Pretty Darn Good

This one kept me reading and guessing. It could have had more action or more interaction between characters, but I still liked it more than Friend's last one, so it must be pretty good.

Easy read with twists!

Our book club at work chose this book. I really enjoyed reading The Missing Half. The story flowed well and made it an easy read. The twist and turns had me thinking I figured it out only to find out I was wrong! Very enjoyable!

good book I couldn’t put it down

Not as good as all good people here. Maybe because I’m an only child. I think her first book was better. It kept me guessing more. This one was good. The first one was one of my all time favorites.

There’s Nothing Missing in This Thriller

Whether you’re a reader looking for a fast-moving, absolutely intriguing plot or one who prefers character development and description that “takes you there,” you’ll find it in this thriller. I can usually predict the ending to a mystery novel; but this novel, like real life, offers no predictable future track until you get there, and the novelist brings you along to observe the action. The unexpected twists of the plot always seem logical, predictable, psychologically sound, only you, the reader, never saw it coming. This page-turner will keep you reading.

OBSESSED is an understatement!

I’ll be honest—I don’t love to read. Usually, I’m yawning two pages into any book I pick up. But not this one. This is actually the first book I’ve purchased since high school, and I finished it in just two days, even with work and taking care of my kids. The twists and turns completely caught me off guard! I’ve always loved how Ashley Flowers tells stories on her podcast, and now I’m in love with her writing too. My daughter, who’s also a big fan of Ashley’s podcasts, can’t wait to read it next. Amazing work!

The ending you never dreamed of...

This author has managed keep me guessing with both of her books so far. I normally can spot the ending of a crime/murder novel from a mile away, and it's comforting. Ashley Flowers has left me unsettled in the best way consistently. I genuinely did not see the ending coming. I cannot say enough good things about the imagery, writing techniques, her way of telling a story. She's one of my favorite authors I've discovered in the last few years. I cannot wait until she takes me out of my comfort zone again with her next book (hopefully)!P.S. Buy this for your sister. Alyssa, if you're reading this review for some reason, this will be your Christmas present.

wow!

Reads like true crime, but this is fiction. Two sisters combine forces to search for their sisters who had gone missing years before.Surprise twists with a big curve at the end, this is definitely a book you don’t want to miss. Mystery solved at the end, not necessarily happily. Well worth the ride.

What follows is a gripping tale of two sisters who will do anything to find their missing halves, even if it means destroying everything they’ve ever known. My Thoughts:As we follow the characters in The Missing Half, we are drawn into how their lives unfolded as they search for their missing sisters. Both Jenna and Nic follow the clues left by their missing “other halves” until we realize that the missing pieces of their search lead to unexpected answers. Will they finally realize what happened? Will their lives take twists and turns that they couldn’t possibly explain? A startling conclusion will finally fall into place. Five stars.***

Unexpected Ending

A quick read but definitely a page turner. Two young women come together to gather information about their missing sisters. Both disappeared in similar circumstances within weeks of each other. Twist and turns kept me reading.

Very fun read!

Was this book good ? Heck yeah! Will I recommend it? Heck yeah! Was it as good as her first one ? Welll..... no. I still enjoyed it and devoured it in a few days but it wasn't as amazing as her first book. I didn't see the ending coming - i kept waiting for the twists and turns she's known for. I feel like the ending was a little rushed. But I'm still very glad I bought it and read it. :)

Page turner

I just want to preface that I am a major Flowers fan. I was so excited when I heard she was releasing a second book. I was completely hooked from the first chapter. The first novel left me dumbfounded with the ending, and the loose ends of wondering what happened. That did not happen with this book.Spoiler alert if you haven’t read it stop reading now.I thought the story was great. Couldn’t put it down fantastic…until…the end, or the last 2 chapters rather. I feel like it was still a very good book and worth the read, but it had the potential to be a GREAT book. The ending felt like it was trying so hard to give me a right hook it just wasn’t believable for me. The characters I grew to love were given an ending I’m not sure was right. I guess the book does say that in the end. Sometimes story lines have a natural flow, and it feels good. This one’s ending just didn’t do it for me. Again still a good book, and an absolute page turner. Just an ending that left me feeling bummed and deflated. I will continue to read and support this growing and incredible author. Each one she writes I feel like will get better and better. Excited to follow along for what she will do next.
