Bought this book for a friend of mine because they told me they came across it and really wanted to give it a read. He absolutely loves it. I won't give away any spoilers but let's judge say that the way he described the book to me made me add it to my cart so I can purchase it for myself. Great buy.
Hard to put in words but this was definitely a page turner! Probably one of the best books I’ve read in a few years!
Feel like I am in a pit. Story unfinished. Incomplete ending. Furious want to know more. A waste of my time.
This is classic James Patterson, a definite thriller! You take an ex-detective, an ex-CIA agent, a drug dealer/murderer, and a kidnapper, and what do you get? An action packed thriller by James Patterson!Meet Bill and his Inn by the Sea, and his tenants of mismatched people. Then meet Shauna and then the shooting begins! Welcome to Patterson’s imagination!
I had a hard time with this one. While the Afghanistan part was good, when they get back to the US it becomes disjointed. I've noticed this is a few of Patterson's books This was a miss for me

There were too many people in this novel whoWere shot, near death, rushed to the hospital and all made incredible recoveries.
Two different stories, not really an ending to either one of them that I saw. Not typical style book for James Patterson for sure!
Each person is skillfully detailed in life. They become a family of misfits interlocking their past and present. Troubling pasts reach their present time. So much drama and the building of relationships happen. Reality knits them together as their family bond grows to protect each other. Great Read!
Like most Patterson books this one held your interest with so many different characters with eclectic personalities. I liked the way several story lines played out. They were all connected but many twists and turns. Would recommend.
GREAT BOOK - KEPT MY INTEREST - HATED IT TO END
Always good stories
I'm a fan
Great book
Two interesting police / detective stories, with some good twists. Ready for more from Mr Patterson, wish the books weren't so expensive
Another good book by this author. I especially enjoy the books he writes with Author Candice Fox. To my surprise there were 2 different stories in this book which I really enjoyed. Both stories were full of action.
The first story was OK, not great. The second one was really hard trudging through. Reminds me why I don’t like Patterson. Everything is a total downer. I’ll just let my husband read them and I’ll stay clear.
Hard to put down
The Murder Inn is the story of the biggest band of misfits all in one place. The majority of them had deep dark secrets, few of them had any redeeming qualities. Not my favorite read. The second book took me a few pages to realize that it was a prequel to the Harriet Blue series which I thoroughly enjoyed. Harriet gets my praise, Murder Inn not so much.
Bill Robinson used to be a detective with the Boston P.D. Him and his wife Siobhan bought an inn. She died in an accident. It was a bed and breakfast. There were people staying there that were permanent guests. Trouble starts after a woman Bill knows complained about noise coming from across the street from her house.
Too many characters in the plot stalking, shooting at, and knocking off others, in one case even a serious accidental shooting of a partner. There is even a kidnapping to boot in the storyline as if there wasn't already enough crime with drugs, police corruption, and the murdering of innocent civilians by military figures to steal money. The granny in the plot was portrayed as a hard and steeled combat veteran though she was only the wife of a law enforcement chief. The second short story in the book was much better.
