Edgar nominee Victor Methos delivers the next high-stakes case for Detective Lazarus Holloway and Piper Danes, where a kidnapping at a Vegas chapel unveils a sinister plot that hits close to home.

The abduction of two teenagers from their Vegas wedding isn't a case Detective Lazarus Holloway wants to take--it's one he has to take. His only clue is a bracelet, etched with a Mayan symbol of death and vengeance--two things the detective is familiar with.

With no other leads, Lazarus enlists the help of guardian ad litem Piper Danes. They've got a complicated history, but Piper shares his compulsion to save children in need, no matter the personal cost. Unfortunately, that cost gets higher with every new revelation.

As they tread further into the dangerous network surrounding the case, secrets from Lazarus's past follow close behind. He soon finds himself entangled with the players in this game of life, death, and disappearances. And if he can't figure out how he fits in, there may be no getting out...

Fantastic

What a fantastic story. Methos writes a great story. The plot flows along dragging you with it. When one chapter ends, you can't stop, you have to start the next one. Fantastic ending.

Until the end

I was so engrossed in this story. The deceit. The lies. The turmoil. The chase. Could not ask for anything better until the last bit and then my 5*** quickly lost points. Tragic endings or non ending aren't my favorite and there doesn't seem to be a book 3 in the works so I guess the questions will remain unanswered.

At His Best

Victor Methos has a way of starting his stories with a usually gruesome act that grips the reader immediately. However unlike other authors, his books continue with acts of murder and mayhem,as well as sick thought processes, that keep us turning the pages, waiting for the next cringeworthy event. He is,without doubt,my very favorite author of psychological twists, gripping stories, but most of all some really sick inventive ways to murder people.Book 2 in this series does not disappoint.

Amazing

I really loved this book. The main character made it even better. The action, the trial ,I won't say too much to spoke it for others, was great. So suspensful it was amwazing. I couldn't put it down. Now I'm wondering if there will be a 3rd book. It can't end like this!! The actual villain is not who you would expect. Please Mr. Methos, what will happen next. A MUST READ!!

Dark, twisted, and utterly riveting,

This novel delivers a pulse-pounding blend of suspense, psychological tension, and shocking twists that will leave readers breathless. The premise alone is haunting—two teenagers kidnapped on what should have been one of the happiest days of their lives—and Victor Methos wastes no time pulling the reader straight into their nightmare. What makes this story stand out is not only the relentless pacing but also the chilling portrayal of the villains. The “bad guys” in this book are some of the most ruthless and unsettling characters I’ve read in a while. They operate with zero remorse and an unnerving single-mindedness, caring for no one and nothing outside of their twisted bond with each other. Their unpredictability keeps you constantly on edge, never knowing what they’ll do next or how far they’ll go.Methos excels at creating a suffocating sense of dread that only builds as the story progresses. The tension is heightened by the emotional weight of the situation—the fear, desperation, and resilience of the victims paired with the cold, calculated cruelty of their captors. It’s this emotional push and pull that makes the suspense hit even harder.Just when you think you might have figured out where the story is heading, Methos drops another shocking twist. The final revelations are both unexpected and jaw-dropping, the kind of ending that leaves you stunned and replaying the story in your head long after you’ve turned the last page.Dark, twisted, and utterly riveting, The Night Collector is a standout thriller that doesn’t just rely on shock value—it’s layered, emotionally charged, and masterfully plotted. Fans of intense, character-driven suspense will not want to miss this chilling ride.
