Heartbroken, and reeling from the events of the Solstice Eve ball, Ashton Blake flees North to a safehouse where she is told she will be reunited with her ailing father. However, once arriving at the inn, she quickly discovers that the location she was given isn't a final destination, but a stop on a vast underground network utilized to get people like her away from those who would try to harm or even capture her.
